Enslavement Magic! And what it means in Warden's world~ Keep in mind these limitations are based on this world's knowledge level and not what is truly possible.
So there are a couple of thoughts that I didn't have room to write.
1. Brands and Tattoos can mess with an Empowered and Magicians mana channels. More experienced tattoo artists and brands can be made to bypass this detriment OR made to permanently block their magic.
2. Brands and tattoos don't have to be enslavement magic. They can do their own thing.
3. I could not cover what the limits of mind magic are in these short lore entries. Once the breach is passed -
- Reading minds is difficult - memories are not stored like movies and forcing minds to do so is very damaging. The easier mental reads are someone's current emotional state, subject matter of their thoughts, and whether they are recalling a memory.
- Direct control - is possible. Much of the focus relies on taking away capabilities in order to gain control over someone's mind. These can be triggered on conditions such as - if the slave tries to attack the master, their will automatically kneel.
- Implanting emotions - is easy to do. These can always be on or triggered by obedience or proximity to their owners,
- What is not possible - Having a perfectly willing slave who would follow every order can be mimicked with emotional and domination. But spells that actually affect compulsion are weak. They depend on interpretation and magical runes are not specific enough to enforce concepts such as, 'you will think of me as your old childhood friend returned from abroad.'
