Come to think of it, is Blastoise the only pokemon with a manmade artillery just attached to its body? Huh. I always preferred wild monsters/creatures not as sentient or cultured as humans to have less manmade clothing and weapons. It’s why a lot of JRPGs with wild monster encounters don’t appeal to me in their design roster. Wild bird monsters don’t just build something as complex as a crossbow and you definitely don’t see that and assume they aren’t smart enough to build their own society and idk trade or communicate with humans. I always fancied designs where the monster clearly has a weapon inspired by manmade objects but is natural to them like Samurott’s shell swords, Decidueye’s bow and arrow, Braixen’s stick wand. Of course exceptions are monsters literally designed around objects like Chandelure and Aegislash because possessed objects are cool to me.

Well that was a ramble.

I like that some forms of monsters are similar to the ghost pokemon formula, where their bodies materialize out of energy and either incorporate manmade items into their bodies or find the equipment near them. Also in Dragon Quest, I know that there are some monsters that are shown to have their own culture which explains their use of manmade weapons.
