2024-12-12 22:39:33 But he did in the show.

Maples adhd is crazy

Also yes it is him, Michiel Huisman played Daario in Game of Thrones and he was the oldest brother in the Haunting of Hill House. He was also in the movie the Age of Adeline with Blake Lively, the show the Flight Attendant with Kaley Cuoco, and yes he doesn't age.

Athasin

Also Cersei believing Tyrione killed Joffrey is how they SHOW that Cersei isn't as smart as she thinks she is. Up until this point all they've done is TOLD us that (Tywin and Tyrione both use it as a diss to her) but this is how the writers prove it to us.

Sam Rogers

yes i think this was the point where g.r.r. martin stopped consulting on the show

Chris Bruneau

Damn girls! you are spicy today--and I love it, LOL Also, the "new" Daario is Michiel Huisman, a dutch actor who also played the elder brother in Hill House

Well here's the weird part... the Director intended for this scene to come off as consensual... So they clearly fucked up with the editing and dialogue for this scene. Because all it comes off as is rape

2024-12-12 22:39:33 You don't need to know cersei's story because it doesnt justify incest lol

Cersei doesn't think Tyrion killed him, lol. She's lying on purpose. She does it from S01E01 to S08E05. Every time she opens her mouth.

Yeah, the writers and director intended the Jamie/Cersei scene to be consensual like it is in the book,. That's partly why the scene seems so jarring and confusing. They clearly failed.

Kayce Stubblefield

I think he had a part in the later seasons of Orphan Black as well--he looked exactly the same (ie very handsome) in that show too.

Yeah in the books, Jaime barely returns to Kings Landing, and his first meeting with Cersei is in the Sept. They have consensual naughty sex in the Sept. Then afterwards things are awkward because Jaime isn't on the same page as Cersei in just murdering Tyrion for her. I understand they couldn't do it exactly like that, but still. Terrible adaptation.

windextor89 .

that's definitely the guy from the haunting of hill house

Michelle

Cersei being a medieval Kendall Roy is the best thing I’ve ever heard hahah

It's actually kind of concerning that this scene went from writers room to editing room without a line of people telling the showrunners it 100% reads as rape...or that they did, and they just didn't care? Like, on set, the fucking vibes??? I know it's incest in the worst place ever, but still, clearly Cersei was not consenting.

Pabb

I hate that Jaime/Cersei scene because even Jaime's actor hated doing that and did not want to do it, but some crazy sexual perversion of showrunners made them do it.

Christophe

Ngl, I thought it was a bit much ^^' but everyone is a bit grumpy every now and then, I won't hold it against them. I did have to mute the girls for long stretches in this episode though, just for my own sanity, which is always unfortunate. I don't even mind the intensity of the emotions, I just don't think overly distracted and rambly makes for the best mood to actually experience an episode of TV 🙈 in these moments, I kinda wish they would just pause for like 15 minutes, do what they need to do to decompress and ramble away off-screen, and then edit to when they resume. Which they do do sometimes if they actually have to interrupt their viewing.

Christophe

Right. Because as we all know, everyone agrees that the last 3 seasons of the show really delivered the goods. /s

That wu-tang hoodie is sick

Same goes for Daenerys and Drogo. In the books she wants to have sex with him. D & D love rape.

Christophe

Nah but I actually agree with the change for Daenerys. The books are weird with the Drogo/Daenerys stuff where George depicts that first time as kind of tender and intimate and even enjoyable for Daenerys, but after that first time, Drogo basically rapes her whenever he wants, just like in the show, until Dany flips the script. I think it makes more sense the way they depicted it in the show, it wasn't quite violent rape because Daenerys submitted to it but obviously not because she enjoyed it or wanted it to happen but because she felt she had to. Which I think is more realistic for an arranged marriage like this. The book scene felt kind of like fantasy, to think that she would enjoy that, especially because she's like 13 there. It's actually more creepy to me that George depicted it as her enjoying it.

Christophe

I won't spoil anything and the show doesn't mention this anyway (which is a shame) but in the books, there's a reason for Cersei's paranoia around Tyrion. Book Cersei is a wild ride because she becomes a POV character in book 4 and so we see her thoughts for the first time in that book. And George does this quite a few times, where we see a character for a book or two until they get their own POV. And in most cases, it humanizes the character and makes them seem more reasonable or at least easier to empathize with. This happens for example with Theon and Jaime. But when you first get Cersei POV chapters, it's like the other way around. Previous to that, you thought that she was cruel and kind of idiotic and entitled, sure, but you also maybe had a bit of empathy for her because she didn't have the easiest life either, being married off to Robert and her being discriminated against because she's a woman. But then you get her POV and get her thoughts and feelings, and you're like "oh no, she actually crazy" xD it's kind of great

TigerMyth

You ladies forget, it was The Watch folks they fled from. The guys who killed Castor and are busy raping his wives. We only see a tiny section of the black watch but there are more men than we see most of whom were criminals. They are still criminals. Unless Sam locks her in a room and stands guard all day, she will be raped. The men going to a brothel are there to pay not rape. You two are dead wrong and Sam is 100% correct. The only benefit to being at the keep is a Wildling attack on Oldtown would be more dangerous. Playing the odds, she is safer where he moved her. Oh and she wouldn't just get raped. They would have to kill her so she couldn't point a finger at the men who broke their vows.

TigerMyth

Oh and if Sam stood outside her door all day, they would easily kill him. He is no better fighting today that when he first got to the wall.

Brian West

I love how people pay for commentary, reactions, and personality, then complain when they get it. Lmfao

J_Fley .

I doubt it was their "back yard." The wall is hundreds of miles long.
