Here is another great article that gives you more suggestions on how to heal our chakras and how to identify an imbalanced chakra. Do you know which chakra you want to work on? If you’re not sure where to start, you can start at the bottom where the root chakra is and work you’re way up from there.

This article is diving in to each of the separate chakra points and discussing how to nourish these powerful energy centers through food and mindful action. This is such an important concept and I often see people in my practice who have deep chakra dysfunctions, which can spiral underlying health issues even further. Many of us have been taught to ignore the deep connection between our spiritual bodies and our physical ailments. I believe that this leaves us vulnerable to lack of true nourishment. I can pinpoint such weaknesses in my clients and we often directly or indirectly work on them through food, but I’m here to share with you simple tips and powerful foods to activate each chakra point. Let’s dive into the chakras! (Naturmend)

Root Chakra

Name: Root Chakra/Muladhara – “root place”, “support”

Physical Location: Base of the spine

Activating Sound: Lam

Colour: Red

Function: Survival, grounding, family, history, elimination

Parts of the body: Hips, legs, lower back, anus. Can have connections to the elimination and skeletal systems as well as the adrenals.

Emotions: Fear, worthiness, security

Celestial Body: Saturn

Weakness in the Root Chakra looks like: You have weight problems, bowel problems, issues with elimination like boating or gas and occasionally suffer from hemorrhoids. You may have sciatica, leg or feet pain or skeletal issues. On an emotional level, you suffer from anxiety or irrational fears, lack of confidence and ability to make decisions. There may be a history of family dysfunction and feeling ungrounded. You find you are unable to make a choice or feel “safe” on this physical plane and you may have money issues. People have accused you of being flighty or always having your “head in the air”.

Ask yourself:

Do I feel safe in my body?

Do I have stamina to get through my day?

Do I feel safe in my home?

Am I in an environment where I can thrive?

Are all of my survival needs met?

What do I fear?

Do I have a connection with the planet? If not, what can I do to strengthen it?

Am I centered?

Do I feel like I have a right to be here?

Am I supported in material and non-material ways?

Do I feel like I can accomplish what I want or am I constantly feeling thwarted?

Foods to nourish you: Protein! Red meat, chicken, eggs, beans and nuts. Also consider foods that come from “under ground” – potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnip, turnip, carrot, beetroot, onion, garlic, ginger and turmeric. Red foods like raspberries, beets, cranberries, tomatoes, strawberries and cranberries can help ground you. Any dishes related to family tradition.

Affirmation: “I am connected to everything that is around me and I feel very connected to the planet underneath me. I have a strong foundation and am secure and stable in my life on earth. I am grounded and therefore able to move with confidence. I am grounded. I am safe and supported.”

Other healing actions to take:

Walk barefoot whenever you can! If you can’t do this because it’s Calgary (duh, winter!) you can use a grounding or weighted blanket to help anchor you during those frigid Calgary days.

Wear red. Think red. Decorate with red. I like to envision myself in a red bubble that I gradually make larger and larger until it fills the whole room. It’s very helpful!

Going out in nature whenever you can during all seasons.

Do something kind for the planet. Plant a tree, pick up litter in your favorite park, give gratitude to the home that feeds and fuels you.

Let go of items that no longer serve you in your home and space.

If you don’t feel safe at home, take measures to ensure your security. Add an alarm system, move if you can, start a neighborhood watch, or advocate for safe spaces in your community.

Use aromatherapy oils such as ylang-ylang, rosemary, sandalwood and myrrh.

Be physically active. The root chakra governs our physical body so ANY movement is valuable. I always love when people do things they enjoy!

Buy a red bouquet and display it prominently in your home. You can use red roses, red irises, angelica or shooting star flowers.

Listen to classical music, tribal music or a drumming soundtrack.

Sacral Chakra

Name: Sacral Chakra – Svadhistana

Physical Location: 3 inches below the navel, abdomen, genital area (especially ovaries and testicles)

Parts of the body: Pelvis, genitals/reproductive System, urinary tract and bladder, kidneys, lumbar spine, lower abdomen, spleen, circulatory systems of the body like blood flow and urine flow

Weakness in the Sacral Chakra looks like: You feel a deep sense of fear when thinking of intimacy. You believe you are somehow not able to explore your sexuality fully. You have problems starting or finishing creative ventures. You believe you generally are “bad” at creative ventures. You may have reproductive issues or fear your body. You may suffer from frequent dehydration and its subsequent symptoms. You have a hard time connecting with your sexual body. You have a hard time convincing yourself to “play” and may consider play unnecessary to a healthy and fulfilled life.

Ask yourself:

In what ways can I play throughout my day?

In what areas of my life am I creative?

Can I easily manifest my desires?

What brings me pleasure?

On a scale of 1-10, how authentic am I to what I really need in any given moment?

Am I sexually fulfilled?

Do I feel able to express my sexuality on a daily basis?

Do I have any “hang-ups” about sex?

On a scale of 1-10, how able am I to “go with the flow”?

Do I let myself enjoy and take pleasure in the small things?

Can I go with the ebb and flow of life?

Do I feel sexy?

Foods to nourish you: Fish rich in omega 3’s – wild caught salmon and ocean trout. Remember that the sacral chakra is a very “watery” chakra, so consider seafood options here. Nuts, flax, sesame, hemp, pumpkin. Sensual foods like pomegranate and coconut (consider the process of opening these fruits naturally). Orange foods such as oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, peaches, mangos and pumpkin. Any food that you can eat in a sensual, playful way. Think chocolate fondue, a lovely organic box of wine, strawberries dipped in white chocolate, etc

Affirmation: “ I love to be alive and I take pleasure in the day to day art of living. I am a sensual being and I am filled with creative potential. My senses are activated, aware and connected. I love to be here and have fun. I embrace who I am and lovingly and fully bring myself into each area of my life.”

Other healing actions to take:

Wear orange or surround yourself in orange.

Slice an orange and add some cinnamon to a pot. Cook over low heat to release the scent.

Swim in a natural water source or take a bath with bubble bath, soft candles and a few drops of a citrus essential oil.

Indulge in a fun activity just for the sake of doing that fun activity! Examples include drawing, painting, writing or colouring.

Masturbate.

Have long, drawn-out sex.

Dance! The sacral chakra loves this freeing movement.

Go for a massage. This can help move stagnant energy throughout the body.

Work on sexual or emotional blockages with a trusted counsellor or psychologist.

Do something spontaneous. Travel to another city on a last minute-whim, take yourself to a movie you’d never see, etc.

Meditate on the colour orange. Imagine a huge orange ball over your lower abdomen. Allow it to grow and pulse until it fills the whole room.

Chant “Vam”.

What does a balanced sacral chakra look like?

You wake up with a healthy reserve of energy and are able to go throughout your day without it faltering. You feel inspired and creative and you easily employ out of the box strategies. You love your body and feel sensual in your skin. You urinate frequently and are hydrated. You have tremendous respect for your own body. You feel comfortable in your skin. You love to explore sexually, but are also able to create and maintain healthy boundaries. You place high value on your individual needs and requirements. You love to have fun. You have a healthy self-care practice. You have a thriving libido. Your blood sugar levels are stable.

Solar Plexus

Name: Solar Plexus Chakra – Manipura

Parts of the body: Stomach, liver, digestive system and your microbiome, metabolism, small intestine

Weakness in the Solar Plexus Chakra looks like: You struggle with a clear sense of self. You have a hard time standing up for yourself and defending your opinions and ideas. Others perceive you as weak or timid. You have a hard time deciding what it is you truly desire. You often doubt your worthiness and others can easily sway you to opinions that may not be yours. You often feel ashamed of yourself or like you are not worthy of affection from others. You like to play the victim and genuinely feel powerless. You struggle with your digestive fire. You find it hard to assimilate (“digest”) the experiences that your life offers you. You have a sluggish digestion and a slow metabolism. Anxiety is felt in the stomach, and emotional upsets are linked to stomach upsets. You may alternate from diarrhea to constipation. You go through life not trusting yourself. You tend not to “trust your gut”. You are very critical of yourself and others. You believe others when they say things that do not resonate with yourself. You can be very manipulative to get what you desire. You may be a bully or alternatively you may feel insecure. You may have ulcers or gas and nausea. You have excessive weight around your stomach (the classic “pot belly”).

Ask yourself:

Am I courageous?

How can I be myself in my every moment?

How have I dimmed my light so that others may be more comfortable?

Am I being authentic to my daily needs?

What about myself makes me most proud?

How clearly am I able to express myself?

Do I take responsibility for my choices?

Can I stand up for what I believe in?

Do I let others push my boundaries?

Do I enjoy evolving?

When was the last time I trusted myself?

How do I handle poor feedback?

In what areas of my life do I overcompensate for my perceived shortcomings?

What makes me happy?

Do I have a sensitive stomach?

Am I aggressive towards others when I want something?

Foods to nourish you: Here we are thinking about yellow foods. Nourishing foods for the solar plexus are foods like corn, pineapple, squash, beans, peppers, banana, brown rice, oats, millet and amaranth. We also love warming spices for the solar plexus – turmeric and ginger. Also consider adding ample amounts of sunflower seeds and chamomile tea throughout your day.

Affirmation: “I am enough. I do enough. I stand in my power. I am proud of myself. I cultivate skills that I’m proud of. I express my identity without imposing my will on others. I am proud to be me. I live with integrity. I love being my unique self. I shine my light clearly.”

Other healing actions to take:

Dress sharp. Put on your favourite outfit and go out and rock the day.

Stand tall! No more slouching. Pay close attention to who is around to make you want to curl up in a little ball.

Speak up for yourself when needed. Don’t always assume that others are right. Trust your gut.

Wear yellow. It’s nice to see mustard making a fashion resurgence.

Imagine a bright yellow ball hovering around your solar plexus.

Seek out new experiences where you can grow your skills and grow your sense of confidence.

Switch up your daily routine. Removing yourself from your comfort zone will show you that you are in fact able to handle growth in a productive way.

Meditate! This will encourage your own healing energy to circulate within the body.

Spend more time in the sun. It’s hard to do in the Calgary winters, but oh so important.

Cultivate aspects of your “sunny” personality.

Sit around a fire! This can be as simple as a fireplace or as lovely as a bonfire with friends. Light candles. Bring that element of warmth into your house.

Use essential oils juniper, lemon and cardamom.

Surround yourself with yellow flowers. Dandelion, daffodils and honeysuckles are all great options.

Invite your fear to reveal itself to you and examine it with love.

Strengthen your core! I always find Pilates excellent for this.

Set a fitness goal and achieve it.

Watch funny videos, go out with friends who give you the giggles. Give yourself permission to enjoy your life!

What does a balanced solar plexus look like? You know, love, and respect yourself. You act with confidence and ease but are still humble and balanced. You are able to set boundaries with others and recognize when your boundaries are being crossed. You do this with love and are not threatened or aggressive when others question you. You judge yourself fairly but without criticism. You are respectful of your needs. You love to smile, and others like to be around you. You are happy and bright and you love to uplift others. You are able to digest food – and life – perfectly and with ease. You feel energized, empowered and in alignment with life.

Heart Chakra

Name: Anahata – Heart Chakra

Physical Location: Six inches above the belly button within your diaphragm

Mantra: Yam

Colour: Green

Function: Rules your perception of love and compassion. Governs your ability to give and receive love from others. Highly responsive to emotions. The heart chakra is truly unmatched in terms of intrinsic power.

Parts of the body: Located in the cardiac plexus, ruling over the heart and lungs. Associated with the thymus gland.

Emotions: Love, Compassion, Empathy, Emotional Growth and Power

Weakness in the Heart Chakra looks like: You have a hard time connecting to yourself and others. You feel like you are not getting the love you deserve. People have called you stingy. You are not comfortable expressing love towards others. There may be a history of high blood pressure, passiveness, asthma, chest pain or breathing problems. It is difficult for you to empathize with others. You take more than you give and are always looking to get ahead. You turn a blind eye to those around you in need. When you are angry, you feel a tightness in your chest. Alternatively, you may give SO much to others that you are constantly overextending yourself. You have a hard time administering self-care and might ignore your own needs. It’s possible that you are dwelling on a past relationship and are unable to move on. It is difficult for you to understand your own emotions OR you may have VERY extreme emotional outbursts.

Ask yourself:

Am I compassionate towards myself?

Am I compassionate towards others?

Am I able to give love freely?

Do I struggle with receiving love?

What do I do if someone compliments me?

Am I holding onto past grudges?

How do I treat the people I claim to love?

Do I love myself just the way I am?

Do I love others just the way they are?

Am I empathetic?

Are there conditions on my love? If so, what are they?

When I think of the collective whole of humanity, what words come to mind?

Am I comfortable giving?

Foods to nourish you: The colour of the heart chakra is a beautiful green. It’s easy to make the leap into thinking all about green foods. Eat greens. Lots of them! You can great a green matcha smoothie with mint, cucumber, avocado and kiwi. Think of green vegetables like kale, brussels sprouts, spinach, kale, peas, asparagus, broccoli and zucchini. Green fruits like grapes, cucumbers, apples, limes, guava and kiwi can also assist. Sip green tea throughout the day and experiment with superfoods like barley, spirulina, chlorella and heart-opening matcha. Cacao is always a wonderful heart opener (even though it’s not green). I find soup in it’s comforting glory can be a great connector and heart-opener. Alternatively, there are SO many herbs to play with – thyme, rosemary, parsley, cilantro, basil and sage.

Affirmation: “I am fully open to giving and receiving love. I forgive myself and others. I treat myself with compassion and I treat others equally as well. My open heart chakra is powerful and strong. My life is filled with joy and gratitude. I am filled with love and light.”

Other healing actions to take:

Go forest bathing. Surround yourself in a green space.

Travel to a “green” place – think Bali, Maui and Peru. There is a reason why people are attracted to these places – the sheer amount of greenery makes the space healing for the soul.

Connect with friends. Let people around you lo

Establish clear personal boundaries. Don’t let people push you around. Every time you let someone cross your boundaries in an unhealthy way, you are not giving yourself the love and respect you need.

Self care, self care, self care!

Try to be patient and kind towards others. You never know what they are going through.

Donate your time to a charity that means something to you.

Hug more! Physical touch is a great way to let people around you know you care.

Give yourself permission to feel. Emotions are clear indicators of your vibrational set point. When you feel good, you are on the right path.

Be thankful! A daily practice of gratitude will literally shift your life.

Do your shadow work. Journey within. Face your inner critic and all of those times when you felt unworthy of love.

Meditate for 5-10 minutes by focusing on your heart chakra and allowing yourself to see a beautiful deep green pulsing light. Imagine it as an jewel or a swirl. Hold the vibration.

Use essential oils like bergamot, rose or geranium.

Do something extra romantic for your romantic partner – or yourself.

Remember the Dalai Lama said: “If it can be remedied, why feel unhappy? If it can’t, why worry at all?” Accept the innate beauty that is YOU. There is nobody else on the planet that has your unique heart and ability to change the world for the better. Embrace it.

What does a balanced heart chakra look like? You go throughout your day radiating kindness and love. You give back to yourself as equally as you give to those around you. You care about your fellow man and take steps to eliminate their suffering – whether that’s volunteering at a soup kitchen or donating money. You love yourself and you practice healthy boundaries. You are able to recognize your emotions and you don’t judge yourself for feeling any particular way. You allow your heart to lead the way and you trust your decisions. You feel a sense of togetherness. You are open and authentic. You express love freely and without conditions on the other person.

Throat Chakra

Name: Throat Chakra – Vishuddha

Physical Location: Located in the neck and the throat

Mantra: Hum

Colour: Blue

Function: Expression, Emotional Honesty, Communication and connection, Creating movement in projects, Speaking your truth, Being heard, Listening

Parts of the body: Covers the ears, mouth, and the thyroid gland in the endocrine system, jaws, tongue and upper palette of the mouth

Emotions: Expression, Truth-Seeking, Actualization of Ideas, Decisiveness, Creative Manifestation

Celestial Body: Mercury

Weakness in the Throat Chakra looks like: You struggle to speak up. When you are feeling emotional, you have a lump in your throat. When you are starting to get sick, you first feel it in your throat as that proverbial scratchy feeling. You may have issues with your thyroid. You often lose your voice when ill. You may speak without thinking or others have accused you of being a gossip. There is a fear of being rejected or a fear of speaking your truth. Expression comes in a critical way – both towards self and others. You may be told you speak too much or you use your words inappropriately. You feel blocked creatively and aren’t always able to actualize your projects. On the flip side, you may be secretive, shy or quiet. Telling lies or not being able to keep your word can greatly undermine the integrity of your throat chakra. There can be consistent problems with sinuses.

Ask yourself:

Do I speak my truth?

What story do I want to tell the world in 2021?

How can I best serve others with my voice?

Do I use my words to hurt or heal?

Am I able to express myself creatively?

Would I consider myself a gossip?

What subjects am I anxious to talk about?

How can I be even clearer when communicating?

Am I being integral with my word?

How can I strengthen my voice?

Am I comfortable singing or humming aloud?

Who in my life do I struggle to communicate with?

Foods to nourish you: Think of foods that are a lovely blue-purple. Blueberries and blackberries can be extremely nourishing for the throat chakra and can assist with bringing in a much-needed antioxidant boost. You can also use blue grapes or currants. Liquid foods are also very important – think about what you would grab if you were feeling like you were getting a sore throat. Herbal teas with honey, bone broth, coconut water and lemon water can be wonderful foods to have during this period. Elderberry tea or a syrup to nourish a sore throat can also be used. Alternatively, foods that grow on trees like apples and pears can be extremely clearing for the throat chakra. This is because these fruits will not fall from the tree until they are ready, symbolizing authenticity.

Affirmation: “I am able to express myself clearly and truthfully. My voice is always heard. I communicate with ease and am able to speak up for myself and others. I speak with integrity, clarity and love.”

Other healing actions to take:

Sing or hum! You don’t have to do this in front of others. The shower and car are great places. Even the smallest of vibrations can help to move a blocked throat chakra.

If you cannot communicate your feelings aloud, write them down. Clear all of the stagnant energy that’s been stuck in there. Cry to move the emotions.

Bring more blue into your space! Wear blue clothes, buy blue flowers. Cornflowers, Iris’s or Hydrangeas are always lovely.

Meditate on the color blue, seeing a beautiful blue crystal right in the middle of your throat. Imagine it shimmer and shine.

Go to a sound healing. You can go to a drum circle or a Tibetan sound healing. A quick Google search in your city will yield plentiful results!

Drink teas like peppermint, spearmint, cinnamon and elderberry. Of course, these teas can have contraindications so please check with your medical professional to make sure it’s the right choice for you.

Be an active listener. Try to lean into conversations. Stop trying to think of what you will say when the person stops talking.

Spend time in silence. Rest your throat chakra for a bit. This can be great for people who simply talk too much!

Get a neck massage.

What does a balanced throat chakra look like? You speak your truth with grace and ease. You spend equal times listening and speaking. You are a conscious speaker and really consider the weight of your words. You use your words to uplift others. You have a pleasant speaking voice. When speaking, others naturally listen because you speak the truth. You are able to express your “higher voice self”. You actively discourage gossiping and lying. Emotional honesty is the name of the game. People like to hear your opinion because you speak with kindness and tact. You are able to express your needs clearly, which improves the quality of your relationships. Good communication flows through you, and all of your relationships (personal and professional) flow as a result.

Third Eye Chakra

Name: Third Eye Chakra – Anja

Physical Location: Eyes, base of skull, brow. Governs the endocrine gland.

Mantra: Om (emphasize is on the “mmm” sound, the seed sound of the third eye chakra).

Color: Indigo

Function: Gateway to higher levels of consciousness, integration of the masculine and feminine energies. Combines knowing, acting and feeling. The energy of consciousness and spirituality.

Parts of the body: Between the eyebrows, above the bottom of the nose

Emotions: Intuition, Wisdom, Knowing & Connection

Celestial Body: Saturn, Moon

Weakness in the Third Eye Chakra looks like: Rationality is the name of the game. You may askew all forms of intuition or meditation. It makes you nervous when others around you say that they “just know” something. How can this be if it is not seen? You have rigid internal walls. You struggle with ego or may feel depressed. The outside world lacks interest to you, and you may be radically self-obsessed. If your third eye chakra is too open, you may have extreme mood swings. You struggle to see the bigger picture and get way too wrapped up in the minuscule details. You may have anxiety, paranoia or headaches. Creativity is foreign to you. You can either be seen as arrogant and egotistical or dreamy and ungrounded. Physically, there are often issues with sinuses and eye problems, including poor vision. You may also have headaches that seem to occur even when there is no known trigger.

Ask yourself:

What is my purpose here?

What do I believe in?

Do I trust my gut feelings?

Am I a spiritual person?

How good is my dream recall?

Do I feel fear when thinking about spirituality?

When I’ve honoured my gut feeling, what happened?

When I’ve dishonoured my gut feeling, what happened?

How open am I to other world viewpoints?

What or whom am I judging right now?

Can I release that judgement to have a more balanced viewpoint?

Foods to nourish the third eye chakra: As the third eye chakra governs MINDFUL and INTUITIVE eating, any steps that you can take to tune in to what your body needs in a particular moment will also activate the third eye chakra. That being said, there are specific foods you can eat to activate this chakra. Cacao contains beautiful antioxidants that causes a release of serotonin, which improves blood flow to the brain. As the color for the third eye chakra is indigo, purple foods can be very helpful. Grapes, eggplant, purple kale, blueberries, purple sweet potatoes and blackberries can all help. Omega 3 rich foods like salmon, walnuts and avocado can also assist as they give the brain a much-needed boost. Ample water intake will help to move stagnancy in the body, both physical and energetic.

Affirmation: “I listen to my deepest wisdom. I am intuitive and connected to the deepest aspects of myself. I am open to inspiration and bliss. My life unfolds beautifully. I am the source of truth and love.”

Other healing actions to take:

MEDITATE! This is the quickest way to connect.

Read a book, listen to a podcast or watch a movie that represents a viewpoint exactly opposite from you. This will encourage you to become more “open-minded”.

Get outside into the sunlight. As the third eye can govern both light and darkness, it’s so important to make sure that you are getting ample sources of light.

Stop messing around with your circadian rhythm! As the third eye chakra governs the pineal gland, you need to respect your natural sleep-wake cycles. This means limiting or eliminating the use of sleep aids and – yes – caffeine!

Hum or chant OM.

Reflect on your life. Keep a completely private journal and use that time as time to connect with yourself.

Jot down your dreams as soon as you wake up. Try running them through an online dream generator.

Calm and harness your energy with yoga.

Wear Indigo.

Buy indigo flowers such as Iris’s, bellflowers and dessert bluebells.

Meditate on a deep indigo light. Position it in the middle of your forehead. Stay there for two minutes then have it clear away – we aren’t trying to open the third eye chakra too deeply.

What does a balanced third eye chakra look like? You have a beautiful ability to see deeply into your own heart and soul and are easily able to connect to your innate, intuitive wisdom. You are able to see how we are all intrinsically connected, and this knowing helps you navigate through life. You trust your intuition and you reap tremendous benefit for tuning in. You have an awareness and understanding that sets the stage for a rich and powerful spiritual foundation. You are able to tap into your intuitive body and you serve yourself from that place. It is said that awakening this third eye is the first step to developing psychic sight in all its forms. You find beauty in all things.

Crown Chakra

Name: Crown Chakra – Sahasrara

Physical Location: Top of the head or slightly above the head. It can be imagined as a crown sitting on top of the head, hence the chakra name.

Mantra: Om or silence

Color: Often represented as white, gold or clear light. Sometimes can be depicted as a deep purple.

Function: Awareness of high consciousness and what is sacred, ecstasy, bliss, communion, connection with higher consciousness

Parts of the body: Governs the pituitary gland, the pineal gland and the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus and the pituitary gland work together to assist in regulating the endocrine system, so imbalances in this chakra can create wide body imbalances. Because of the physical location to the head, this chakra is associated with the brain and the central nervous system.

Emotions: Connection, bliss, awe, reverence, disconnect, cynicism, apathy, boredom

Weakness in the Crown looks like: You struggle to understand the broader picture and often feel a deep disconnect from yourself, others and the bigger picture of life. You can be close-minded towards other’s spiritual views. You may have tunnel vision and are obsessed with practical and materialistic matters. You are cynical of others when they express their spiritual views and you struggle with respecting things or spaces others consider sacred. An overactive crown chakra can present as a split from the physical body, which can be extremely dangerous. This can limit spiritual growth and cause distress. Physical symptoms can include nerve pain, neurological disorders, thyroid and pineal gland disorders, insomnia and depression.

Ask yourself:

On a scale of one to ten, how connected do I feel to others?

On a scale of one to ten, how connected to I feel to the limitless universe?

Do I feel directed and supported in the choices I make?

Do I feel like I have a solid spiritual ground to stand on?

How much beauty do I see around me on a daily basis?

What does peace look like to me?

Where is a place that I consider sacred? Can I carve out time on a weekly basis to visit that place there?

Foods to nourish the crown chakra: This is a tricky one as the crown chakra is linked to spiritual nourishment, not necessarily physical nourishment. That being said, those feeling a lack of connection to their crown chakra can benefit greatly from a gentle detox protocol and from taking in nourishment from the cleanest and highest quality vegetables and fruits possible. You should focus on a clean, whole-foods based diet that is natural and wholesome. Teas such as peppermint and ginger can help assist in clarity and food should be towards the bland side (no hot peppers here!).

Affirmation: “I know my own spiritual truth and I live in alignment with it on a daily basis. I am constantly connected to my highest self. Every day I am open to divine guidance and love.”

Other healing actions to take:

Visualize a bright and brilliant white or purple light diving in from the top of your crown

Visualize a white lotus flower opening at the top of your crown

Do yoga regularly. This will help you both tap into the flow of things and allow you to learn how to harness your physical and spiritual energy properly.

Reiki is extremely effective for utilizing the energy from the crown and opening the flow.

Sit in silence. We are bombarded throughout the day with physical assaults on our senses so it can be extremely beneficial to sit in pure delicious silence for a few minutes every day.

What does a balanced crown chakra look like? It feels so good to be you! You live fully and with gratitude. You feel alive and often find yourself noticing the many fantastic synchronicities of the universe. You find comfort in knowing that you are guided and supported and connected. People and positive circumstances are attracted to you on a daily basis. You feel a sense of lightness and love.
