If you’re looking to expand your spirituality practice or are just tired of reading self-help books and aren’t feeling the love for yourself that you crave, perhaps introducing some crystals into your life will be the vibration boost that you’re looking for.
These crystals for self-love are healing crystals and confidence crystals, picked because of their powerful properties that help you balance your love and trust for yourself, balance your emotional state and energy, assist in your healing journey and in opening your heart chakra.
Self-love is always connected to healing so remember that to gain and understand your own self-love you must first practice forgiveness, compassion and self-care, which these self-love crystals can most certainly help with!
What are the best crystals for self-love?
These suggestions are a mix of crystals for confidence, healing crystals and general all-round crystals that I believe are beneficial to have during any spiritual crystal practice.
Know that not all of these self-love crystals are not necessary to have, pick the ones that call to you the most and add them into your self-care practice to help you heal and love.
Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is the best stone for self-love as it’s the emotional crystal known for unconditional love. The light pink colour of this crystal, along with the patterns that form naturally in the stone is beautiful.
This eye-catching pink stone is known for being associated with love and your heart chakra. This means that this crystal isn’t just great for loving yourself but also for calling in love.
Rose quartz is one of the most popular crystals, especially for work on self-love and becoming comfortable with yourself. Hence why it’s quite common to see it used for yoni eggs and pleasure wands.
Rhodochrosite
Known as the stone of the compassionate heart, rhodochrosite is a top choice for self-love practices because it assists in healing. This healing is done by focusing on forgiving and having compassion for your inner child which will then allow you to feel a deep sense of self-worth which is directly related to self-love.
This stone is associated with the root, solar plexus and heart chakras, all chakras that are associated with self-worth.
Rhodonite
Rhodonite is the stone of self-love and helps with balancing the yin and yang energies in your body. Expect to feel a self-confidence boost with this crystal as you’ll be able to use it when working through decisions or problems, helping you in doing so without judgment.
It’s associated with the root and heart chakras, to keep you grounded but also in love, always.
Citrine
Citrine is a great beginner crystal and one that I personally wear as jewelry most days! The fact that this crystal is yellow matches perfectly with the fact that citrine is known for bringing in happiness.
Citrine is the lucky merchants stone and is a great stone to use for self-love because it connects you to your highest self through your crown chakra, allowing you to release low vibe feelings such as self-doubt and connect to your truest self.
Red Jasper
This bright and bold stone is connected to your base (your root) chakra and aids in keeping you grounded. It has been used as a stone for protection for many, many years and is known as a crystal that nurtures.
Staying grounded and feeling safe is essential before you can begin to truly feel unconditional love for yourself.
Amethyst
One of the most popular crystals, mainly for its beautiful purple colour, is amethyst. This pretty crystal is associated with the third eye and crown chakra, both of which are chakras that help you connect with your highest self and aid in spiritual exploration and enlightenment.
This stone is perfect for developing self-worth through spiritual self-love. When you grow spiritually, you allow negative energies and emotions such as shame and worthlessness to fall away, making way for self-love to fill you up!
Moonstone
Moonstone is a soft and gentle stone that holds the power of the feminine energy of the moon. It is known as the stone of new beginnings and is associated with the crown chakra.
Working with this crystal helps you have more compassion towards yourself which helps you find self-acceptance as you become less hard on yourself and more kind.
Kunzite
Yet another stone connected to your heart chakra, kunzite is great if you want to have more feelings of oneness or wholeness. Using kunzite assists with your courage as it works with your emotions (it is the stone of emotions) to align with those of your heart.
Carnelian
It’s important to include a few stones for confidence in this list because working on your self-esteem and self-worth greatly affect your love for yourself.
Carnelian is a stunning red crystal that is connected to your sacral chakra, a place where a lot of women especially hold onto past pain and trauma. Working with carnelian has a fiery energy that will boost your courage.
Smoky Quartz
Though smoky quartz is not directly related to self-love, it is a great all-round crystal to have in your practice. Not only is smoky quartz absolutely beautiful and so unique to look at ranging in colours from a black to pale grey, but it is also perfect for grounding and releasing negative energies.
You can not expect to go up in vibration and feel self-love if you aren’t releasing the low emotions that are keeping you stuck. Practice with this crystal regularly to keep you clear and vibing high.
Clear Quartz
Learning to love yourself comes with a lot of healing, which is why having this crystal in your toolkit is a great idea.
It is known as the master healer of all crystals. Not only will it keep you strong but it also keeps your other crystals strong too by clearing their energies as you use them. I recommend always having this stone around!
How to use crystals
There is no set or specific way to use crystals, but these crystal tips will get you started!
- The easiest way to use crystals is just to have them around you. Sit them on your desk, beside your bed when you sleep or under your pillow or when you’re journaling.
- Hold them during meditation or have some sitting by you.
- Incorporate them into rituals such as a new moon or full moon ritual.
- Use them during your yoga practice by simply placing them at the top of your mat.
- Add them into your self-care routine by soaking them in the water of the bath or that you use to wash your face (make sure the crystals are clean first!).
- Place them on your body and allow the energy between you and crystals to raise together.
- Introduce them into your self-pleasure practice by using a yoni egg or pleasure wand.
- Carry one or some around in your bag.
- Create an altar for your crystals that is a sacred space for you.
- Wear them as jewelry.
- Add them to your home to decorate your space.
You are not alone for wanting to create for love for yourself, have no shame in adopting what may seem like “woo” spiritual practices. Whatever it takes for you to love yourself is what it takes. I hope these crystals and practices bring more love, light, joy and bliss into your life!
What always comes before self-love is self-acceptance. There are a few paths to self-acceptance and one of the most challenging for many women is body acceptance. We live in a culture where we’re constantly told to look a certain way that only emphasizes that we should be unhappy with our bodies. Accepting your body becomes radical. But what if accepting your body felt more natural instead of hating your body? How much space would that free up in your mind, thoughts, and day?
