This post is all about different rituals you can try for the Taurus New Moon Solar Eclipse! You can do any of these today, tomorrow or when you feel called to because the energy of the eclipse could be felt for up to 3-4 days. Some people are hesitant about using eclipse energy, but you totally CAN make moon water, charge your crystals and do rituals if you feel comfortable! Some people say that you shouldn’t manifest or do rituals during an eclipse, and you don’t have to if you don’t feel called to do so. There is a solar eclipse happening that is coinciding with the new moon, which give us the chance to really push for your desires. New moons represent fresh starts and solar eclipses give us a supercharged boost for transformation. What is no longer serving you? What new energy can you welcome?

New Moon Solar Eclipse Meditation by Adventure Yogi

Sit for 5 minutes or more and focus on breathing in and out equally. In for 4 out for 4. (Can be more if you feel comfortable doing so.) This will help to settle you and draw within, letting the external fade.

Once you feel settled drop in to just observing, watching the breath flow, and thoughts come and go. Allow yourself to just sit like this for at least 6 minutes. (Setting a timer can help.)

When you feel connected to the calmer peaceful place inside ask your higher self “what is next for me?” Maybe even, “what is for my higher good?” Or, “what will bring me joy?” Just watch what arises.

Then when you feel ready open your eyes and journal, write down everything that comes up even if it doesn’t make sense. Notice fears but don’t feed them, focus on what you want in your heart.

Hopefully, by now you are starting to feel clear about your intentions. A powerful exercise to do is to describe what your life is like once you have got them. For example, writing it as if it’s a date next year and you are detailing how life is now you have created this change. This really helps you to experience what you want to create now. In turn, helping to bring it to the forefront of your consciousness. When something is in the front of our minds it helps to direct our actions and to notice the opportunities that arise to help us.

Finally come back to just sitting, breathing slowly, bringing your hands together in prayer with a bit of space in-between your palms. Imagine, filling this space with your dreams. Finally, on a slow exhalation, open your fingers like a flower and release them to the Universe.

First, get to earth—even if that means a patch of grass somewhere in your neighborhood. This is a way to connect with the earth element of Taurus, which is what sign this New Moon Solar Eclipse is in! Earthing allows us to connect with nature, and there is said to be a charge when we place our bare skin on the earth. If you can, do this. Stand there (but do not look up without the proper glasses), and let the solar energy sweep over you. Be present in this moment. Witness this. Soak in its power. Stay mindful to how you are connected to all living things.

Second, as you would charge any crystal or stone, set out to charge your items today. This will allow for the magnificence of the eclipse to be infused in your belongings. Wash and dry your crystals, place them in line with the sun or on a roof (or preferably in a patch of earth), and think on what that crystal will symbolize once it's charged—will you turn to it for energy cleansing? Wisdom? Protection? (New Yorkers and city-dwellers, a wooden bowl will do on a ledge). Bathe the crystal in the light of the eclipse on this day, charging it throughout—next time you meditate or hold your crystal, think on what you charged it with. Whether or not you believe in or turn to crystal work as a mainstay in you practice, often the ritual of doing something is enough to make you think on an idea or goal.

Solar water, moon water, and in this case—a mix of both, is great for rejuvenation. This would be great for when you need an added boost any day. Keeping a (cleansed and blessed) vial, mason jar, or shell (especially fun for spells) full of this water symbolically allows us to tap into the water's sunlit powers. Let the water charge during the eclipse and that whole day.

What can you do with the water? You can drink a bit when you need a boost, you can use it for a ritual on the skin, you can feed your plants the water and have them live on with the Eclipse's energy. You can use it to clean small stones and crystals.

The Eclipse offers a powerful opportunity to think on our goals as individuals. Do you want to be more patient? Tap into your creativity more often? Do you want to find personal strength? Do you want to take care of yourself more? Do you want to let go of something you've been grieving?

I'll probably take the time to journal about my goals and fears—what I want to release, and what I want to invoke. I'll likely list out my creative goals, personal goals, short-term goals, long-term goals, and my hopes and wishes for the people in my life and the world at-large. I believe that writing-as-ritual is a powerful way to set ideas in stone and tap into the finality of the written word. Especially under an eclipse, this is a powerful and symbolic move that will only heighten your intentions.

Or better yet, what do you want your life to look like in the next six months? Write it all down, every detail you can think of. You can focus this on a specific aspect of your life or go broad.

Think of this list like a brainstorm or data dump of what’s important for you right now. At the end of your list, add “or something better.” The goal of this list is to make your intentions known and tangible. Putting them on paper takes them out of your mind and into the real world. Then, leave it to the universe to take them off the paper and turn them into exactly what you hoped for—or something more.
