Hey witches! Here are some glamour spells you could try for Beltane!
Beltane Goddess Bath Ritual (by Moody Moons)
Famous for its associations with love, attraction, and the alluring power of feminine charm, Beltane is the perfect time for beauty and glamour spells.
This bath harnesses the sacred energies of Aphrodite, Roman goddess of love and beauty, to assist you in discovering and enhancing your natural allure.
A Bath for Beauty
Although ritual cleansing is most often associated with the Christian tradition of baptism, water cleansing for spiritual rejuvenation is as old as magic. Take advantage of springâs energy of renewal and rebirth!
Instead of degrading your self-esteem with harsh, invasive beauty treatments, invest some time in learning to love yourself the way you are. Ritual baths are a powerful way to cleanse the spirit and draw out inner beauty. The following simple ritual bath is a lovely way to both celebrate Beltane and enhance your natural charms.
Creating a Beltane Goddess Bath Altar
Start by creating a bath altar! You can invest or use a bath tray, especially if you want to routinely do water ritual baths! Itâs super easy to make an altar that way but you can also use the edge or other flat surface of your bath tub, too!
A bouquet of fresh flowers and candles is quite symbolic of the holiday, and of feminine grace.
Other items to consider on the altar include mirrors, a lavender-colored candle or seashells to honor Aphrodite. Said to be born of the sea, Aphroditeâs energy is tightly coiled with the power and magic of the ocean.
Some Wildflowers to Include in Your Beauty Bath
Before your ritual bath, take the time to head out for a nature walk and gather some wildflowers. Theyâre everywhere! Any bunch will do, but the following flowers specifically symbolize beauty, grace and confidence.
Wisteria â Growing wild all over the Southern United States right around Beltane, wisteria is a classic flower of feminine grace and beauty.
Dandelion âThere are so many ways to use dandelions in witchcraft. In this case, add it to a beauty bath to restore confidence and allow the magnetic power of your natural beauty to shine through.
Garden Roses â Be sure theyâre yours! But if your rose bushes bloomed big and early, gather a few to add to your bathwater to honor the goddess, Aphrodite. She loves them!
Cherry Blossoms â If you are further up North, you may still have some cherry blossoms to work with. These flowers represent youthful radiance.
âBrewingâ Your Bathwater
I like to think of a ritual bath as a giant cauldron, and I blend my âbrewâ accordingly. First, I always start by adding a generous handful of sea salt for cleansing. I know some people just love to put herbs directly in the bathtub, and if thatâs you, go for it! Personally, I donât like having the mess to clean up afterwards, so I use this tiny tea filter.
Your Beauty Spell Goals
Much like other forms of magic, the results are rarely literal in the way you see on television or movies. Often, we find that spell craft effects our lives in subtle ways we have trouble articulating.
You can use any other herbs like rosemary or a high quality oil too, like rose. Feel free to say an incantation or other blessing over the water. Ask the Universe (or whatever) to draw your inner beauty out. Thatâs what makes you truly magical.
Relax and enjoy!
Beltane Morning Dew Beauty Ritual (from Gungle of Pagan and Witches)
May 1 marks the day of Beltane - the ancient Gaelic celebration of fertility, beauty and passion. A time when we revel in the Earth blossoming forth and shifting from the cold, to warmer, sunnier days.
Tradition says that washing in the morning dew - before sunrise - will beautify and assist in securing the object of your affection. This magical dew was often gathered from ivy or grass underneath trees. One other account of a rhyme notes that the maid who "..washes in dew from the Hawthorne tree, will forever handsome be."
Dew was often gathered in a jar and allowed to sit in the sunshine, increasing it's power. Some maidens opted to roll around in the dew for whole body beautification - doesn't that sound lovely?
Create your own Beltane dew ritual. Step outside just before sunrise and gather morning dew in a jar or bowl. Use this dew to mix with your morning cleanser. You can also apply morning dew to your skin as you would a toner, with a cotton pad. Feel the energy of this powerful time of year infusing your skin with new beginnings, fortifying it with joy and beauty.
How to Collect Morning Dew
Morning dew is a part of many love, healing and beauty spells, and can even be used to make blessed/holy water.
Below is how you can gather the water.
1. Gather your materials.
You'll need a container and an absorbant towel
2. Go out in the morning.
I typically go out to collect dew between 7-9AM. It's mostly important to go out before 10-11, dew starts to dry off plants before midday.
3. Collect the dew.
Find areas you want to collect dew off of and take your towel and drag it around until it is heavily wet. It's most efficient in grass and low to ground plants that aren't bothered by getting shaken up a bit.
4. Ring it out.
Once you have a wet towel, ring it out into your container. You'll have to collect and ring out several times before getting a good amount of dew.
5. Filter out big junk.
You'll end up getting bits of grass or dirt in your dew so it's important to filter it out either with cheesecloth (as pictured) or with paper towel.
Once you filtered your dew it's ready for use!
You can try...
Charging it under the full moon for a more enhanced moonwater.
Using morning dew in your spells
Blessing morning dew for holy/blessed water
Remember that you should not drink this water.
Beltane Glamour Candle Spell (from Moody Moons)
Here is a glamour spell by Moody Moons for Beltane! Beltane is a sabbat traditionally associated with feminine beauty, enchantment and romantic attraction and this is a fairly simple spell to do!
For this one, you will need:
- pastel colored piece of ribbon
- a white pillar candle
- a handful of dried lavender
- some rose oil
- A carving knife
- lighter or matches
- Vase full of spring flowers (ideally, some that you have picked yourself)
- a flattering photo of yourself
1. On the day of Beltane, choose a sunny spot to work in. Mark the circle with your fresh spring flowers walking in a clockwise fashion.
2. Sit comfortably in the center of your circle, placing the pillar candle directly in the center.
3. With your carving knife, etch a symbol of beauty in the base. The image of a swan if you are artsy and good with carving, or simply the word âbeautyâ both work fine.
4. Anoint the candle with rose oil. Rose oil has ancient associations with feminine beauty and enchantment.
5. Wind the ribbon around the pillar candle as you would a May Pole.
6. Charge the candle any way you like. You might chant something clever or simply imagine the divine light of Aphrodite glowing from within the candle.
7. Close the circle by gathering the wild flowers in a counterclockwise manner.
8. Place the candle on top of your photo on your altar or someplace near where you get ready in the morning, like the bathroom vanity or a dressing table.
9. Surround the base of the candle with dried lavender. I used some dried lavender stems from last yearâs garden, but you can use the loose variety youâd find in any herb shop.
10. Light the candle every morning, say a small affirmation and let it burn while you go about your morning dressing routine.
11. Donât forget to extinguish the candle!!! Never leave it burning unattended, and watch for flaring.
