If you have been feeling extra grateful lately and want to perform a ritual that displays your gratitude, try making a gratitude spell jar. This jar shows your thankfulness for the higher powers at work, the Universe and everything you have cultivated in your practice. You can place this jar on your altar or somewhere you can see it frequently as a reminder of the higher powers and the Universe at work and to not take them for granted.

What you need:

- A jar with a lid

- Herbs and flowers that symbolize gratitude, spiritual vibrations and divine powers: roses, parsley, pansies, hydrangeas, hibiscus, mugwort, allspice

- Herbs and flowers that symbolize your manifestations and wishes: sage, peonies, azaleas, dandelions, sunflowers, basil

- Crystals that correspond to the Universe spirituality such as labradorite, kyanite, blue lace agate and amethyst

- Paper and pen

What to do:

- Cleanse your jar. You can cleanse your jar with salt water to represent Earth and Water then incense or sage smoke to represent Fire and Air. You can also use any cleansing method you desire.

- You can diffuse oils or burn incense that represent gratitude if you feel called to it as well. You can use ylang ylang, Frankincense, grapefruit, myrrh, orange, geranium, etc.

- Place the herbs and crystals you chose to use into your jar while focusing on the intent and meaning of each one. You don’t need every single one on the list, use what you have!

- Write everything you are thankful for on your paper. Thank the divine powers you follow or the Universe if there are not any you follow. You can write on individual pieces of paper for what you are grateful for or make a list on one piece of paper. You can even write it as a letter.

- Fold and cleanse your paper the same way you did with your jar. The cleansing method represents Earth, Water, Air and Fire. For the salt water part, you can use droplets of the water on the paper. You can also do your own cleansing method if you choose.

- Place your paper in the jar and personalize it any way you choose. You can add additional crystals and herbs, sigils and symbols or anything else that is personal to you and feels right.

- Close your jar tightly and hold in in your hands. Meditate with the jar and infuse your energy and vibrations into it. Reflect on everything you are thankful for.

- Leave your jar in the light of the Full Moon or the Waning Gibbous Moon with an offering of your choosing, a gift for the Divine. (You could do apples, honey bread or anything you choose.) You can also leave offerings for the Universe that you feel called to, as well.

- You can then place your jar on your altar or somewhere you can see it frequently. This is a reminder for all of the wonderful things you have cultivated during your journey. You can recharge your jar too by adding in more slips of paper as you go and adding in / replacing more herbs and crystals, as well.
