In this step by step, you can witness I didn't want a heavy jungle background to mix with the ongoing action, so I chose to vanish parts of it.

I like the evolution of the action between the two, you have so much more to discover, believe me, hehe! This angle offered me to draw his back in effort. I also went for a helpless hand that emphasis the emotion.

Last point, I knew from the start I wanted to rotate a bit the image, so it's not made during the layout, as I can do for some panels, but here it's created right from the sketch.
