Following a day of treating on Fridays, the lads walk over to their local park opposite our Ferntree Gully clinic for their weekly Barefoot Sprint!


Sit back and enjoy a classic barefoot sprint session with Ninja, Aaron, and Callum. This session was our first back together following Melbourne's 12 week lockdown. Although we've been training, this was our first competitive sprint in 3 months, so we were endeavoring to tick the box off and complete the session with no niggles/injury.


The main, most important component of the session is the true sprint work. This is where we focus on pure explosive acceleration, which is what actually improves sprint speed over time. When you sprint competitively, it brings out your pure sprint biomechanics. It's important to train this if you want to improve speed, thus it's important to train with mates!


The acceleration component sees us sprint over 12.5m, 25m, and 37.5m.


We then move on to some more top speed and longer sprint work, and finish with some more gut busting endurance work with 150m sprints and some Judds.
