Episode 1: "A heartwarming comedy set in the Goto Islands!"
Born and raised in the city, Seishuu Handa, whose father is the renowned calligrapher, Seimei Handa, has been hailed as an up-and-coming calligrapher. However, at a celebration for winning an award, Seishuu was outraged when Ryunosuke Yagami, the director of the exhibition and a leading figure in the world of calligraphy, criticized his calligraphy, saying that it was "quite dull". He grabbed the curator, overcoming the restraint of his manager, Takao Kawafuji. Seimei told Seishuu, "You lack the human aspect before being a calligrapher," and ordered him to cool off by living on the Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture. Upon landing at Goto Fukue Airport, Seishu was stunned by the countryside with no buses or taxis. Still, after riding in a tractor driven by Kousaku Kotoishi, the first islander he met, he finally arrived at his destination, Nanatsudake Village. The village chief, Yujiro Kido, shows him around the old house, but even though no one is supposed to be living there, there are signs of people inside... There he met Naru Kotoishi, a neighborhood elementary school student. Naru had been using this house as a base with the misfits of the village. Although he thought he could spend some quiet time alone to practice his calligraphy, Seishuu is at the mercy of the free-spirited islanders who come into his house without his permission, including Naru, and the unfamiliarity of living alone in the countryside. However, Seishuu, though bewildered by his intolerable daily life, is helped and encouraged by the islanders, gradually growing emotionally and opening up a new frontier of calligraphy.

Episode 2: "New life on the island is fraught with challenges?! Heavy rain caused trouble after trouble"
A month had passed since Sei moved to the Goto Islands in Nagasaki. Then, Sei receives a phone call from his manager, Takao Kawafuji. The news was that Sei's work, which he had entered in a calligraphy exhibition, had won second prize. Sei was shocked that his work did not win the grand prize because he was so confident in it. And even more so, he was stunned to learn that the grand prize went to an 18-year-old newcomer, Kosuke Kanzaki. Then comes the village chief, Kido, and his high school-age son, Hiroshi. He wants Sei to write the bib for his bib in order to help Nanatsudake Village get out of the bottom place in the townspeople's sports festival being held soon. Sei, depressed by the results of the calligraphy exhibition, tries to refuse, saying that this is not the time for that, but the village chief tells him that they need new numbers for unity, and he pushes a large quantity of the bibs at him and leaves. Meanwhile, a heavy storm hit Fukue Island. Sei's storm shutters were blown off, his phone was submerged, his bathtub was broken, and so on. Combined with the results of the calligraphy exhibition, this makes him even more depressed. Naru, for a change of pace, invites Sei to participate in the village's mochi-picking event...

Episode 3: "A best friend and a rival come to the island!"
Takao Kawafuji, the manager, comes to the Goto Islands, where Seishuu Handa lives. Kawafuji was with Kosuke Kanzaki, a calligrapher who was only 18 years old and who had won the first prize at a calligraphy exhibition, beating out Seishuu. At the same time, Seishuu went to the Arai Store to buy ink. Naru Kotoishi, who was standing in front of the store, tells him to ask Tamako Arai, who is in the back room if he wants to buy something because the manager is out. Seishuu picks up the ink and calls for Tamako, but there is no answer. Scared, Seishuu goes to the back of the store and opens Tamako's room. At that moment, Tamako was drawing manga with an unusually high level of concentration. When Seishuu sees the crazy manga that Tamako has drawn, he tells her that it is cool because it has its own unique worldview. Tamako is moved by Seishuu's words and asks him to read the manga she drew next time... After Seishuu leaves, Kawafuji and Kosuke arrive at the Arai Store to inquire about the location of Seishuu's house. Kawafuji and his friends ask Naru, who was selling shells in front of her store, about Seishuu. Then Hiroshi Kido and Miwa Yamamura pass by. Miwa, who hears about the situation, thinks that Kosuke came all the way to Seishuu to see his frustration, and secretly tells Naru not to let them meet with Seishuu. Meanwhile, rumors about Kawafuji and Kosuke spread among the adults in the village. The village chief, Yujiro Kido, and his team, together with the villagers, start searching for the suspicious persons...

Episode 4: "New character appears! Trouble keeps coming! Seishuu unexpectedly returns to Tokyo"
One morning, Seishuu Handa woke up to find Miwa Yamamura and Tamako Arai lying on either side of him for some reason. And at his feet was Naru Kotoishi... Seishuu jumped up in surprise and asked them why they could enter the house even though it was locked. Miwa then pulled out a duplicate key without a trace of guilt. In fact, Miwa had made five duplicate keys without permission and shared them with everyone, including Hiroshi Kido. She also said that she had dropped one of them somewhere and lost it. Seishuu is stunned. Miwa and Tamako, unconcerned about Seishuu, ask him to teach them calligraphy because they have to do it for their summer homework. Seishuu declares, "Since I'm teaching, I'll make sure you win a prize!" Then Seishuu received a phone call from his manager, Takao Kawafuji. Miwa and her friends, who were eavesdropping, heard Seishuu say, "I'll head home then, to Tokyo." Seishuu, who was in a slump because he could not write a piece for a calligraphy exhibition, was asked by Miwa's father Iwao, whom he met at a harbor, to write the name of a ship on the hull of a second-hand boat he bought for fun. The boat's registered name is "Yuigadokuson-maru." Seishuu is under pressure not to make a mistake under completely different conditions than usual, with a paintbrush instead of a brush, paint instead of ink, and a hull instead of paper...

Episode 5: "Returning to Tokyo and in a slump!"
Seishuu Handa has suddenly disappeared from the island. Kotoishi Naru is shocked by this news and is unable to move as she lies on the side of the road. Hina Kubota and Kenta force Naru to get up and meet with Hiroshi Kido, Miwa Yamamura, and Tamako Arai to discuss the next steps. Around the same time, Seishuu returns to Tokyo and meets with Takao Kawafuji at the "Kawafuji Art House", which manages Seishuu. Seishuu was to meet with Ryunosuke Yagami, the director of the art museum, whom he had grabbed in a fit of anger after a scathing criticism of his calligraphy. He was supposed to apologize properly to Yagami and have him look at the calligraphy he had written on the island. But as the appointed time approaches, "What if he harshly criticizes it?" Seishuu becomes less and less confident. Soon Yagami arrives. Yagami, who walks slowly with a cane because of his bad back, reminds Seishuu of Granny Yasu on the island, and Seishuu reaches out to him without a second thought. Yagami accepts Seishuu's apology and immediately looks at his new calligraphy, "Star"... Meanwhile, Hiroshi, Miwa, and the others become increasingly lonely as they reminisce about Seishuu. When Naru says: "I didn't even thank him for playing with me so much", Miwa suggests that they all go to Tokyo together...

Episode 6: "A new chapter begins! Deliver! Thoughts of gratitude! Tearful Procession"
After returning to Tokyo, Seishuu Handa completes the calligraphy "Stone Wall," which is filled with the names of people he met on the island, including Naru Kotoishi, Hiroshi Kido, Miwa Yamamura, Tamako Arai, and others. When Seishuu says he will return to the island as he promised Naru and the others, his mother Emi objects, saying she will not allow him to go to the island. Emi asks Takao Kawafuji and Kosuke Kanzaki to persuade Seishuu as well. Seimei chides at Emi... At the same time, Miwa and Tamako's junior high school announces the results of their summer calligraphy assignment. Tamako won the gold prize and Miwa the silver. While everyone was relaxing at Seishuu's house, Miwa was depressed and said, "There's a big difference between first and second place. She was just like Seishuu when he lost to Kosuke. Then Naru noticed a big envelope. It was the calligraphy that Miwa and Tamako had written so far. At dusk, Seishuu and others discuss the matter with Emi again. Emi mentions that Seishuu was hospitalized on the island and insists on stopping him, even if it means house arrest. Then Seimei, who has been quietly listening to the conversation, reveals that he himself has lived on the island. Meanwhile, Naru and the others start cleaning up the house that was left untidy in Seishuu's absence to welcome him home. Everyone wrote "to toss" and "not to toss" on cardboard boxes and started sorting them. That's when they found a spool car. It was something Miwa had learned to make from Granny Yasu, who is said to be an "expert in handmade toys".

Episode 7: "Father and Mother in Goto! Unexpected father-son showdown?!"
Seishuu Handa passes by the shrine and meets Naru Kotoishi and Hina Kubota. When Seishuu reminds Naru about not doing her homework, she says, "When I grow up, I will be a yakuso (medicinal herb) researcher," and starts stuffing wild grass into the hole in the stone steps and crushing it. The hole had been there since Granny Yasu's childhood and had been used to play house. Seishuu is deeply moved by the fact that it has been passed down from generation to generation. At the same time, at the Handa family in Tokyo, Seimei Handa asked Takao Kawafuji for a vacation. However, Kawafuji, who had been commissioned by a first-class hotel to have Seimei write pieces to be displayed in the hotel, refused, saying that he had no time to rest. Seimei replied that he could not write half-assed works and that he should consider it a preparation period for such works. In fact, Seimei is going on vacation to the Goto Islands, where Seishuu lives. His wife, Emi, arrives there and says she is going with him and tries to talk Seishuu into a marriage meeting. When Seishuu learns that his parents are coming to the island, he orders Naru, Miwa Yamamura, and the others to stay away from the house. However, Seishuu soon realizes that this is impossible, and he tells them one thing in advance: "My mother is a pain in the neck," he warned them.

Episode 8: "The mystery man is Naru's father?! A stalker appears on her birthday!"
Seishuu Handa, invited by Miwa Yamamura and Tamako Arai, plans a surprise birthday party for Naru Kotoishi. However, Seishuu is asked to prepare a present and is at a loss as to what to give her. While Seishuu is consulting with Kenta about what he wants, he overhears Hina asking Naru what she wants, but when he hears her answer, "I want an airplane," he becomes more and more confused about what she wants. At that time, Hiroshi Kido, who was wondering what to do after high school, asked Seishuu for advice. Hiroshi has decided to become a chef, but is unable to take the first step due to the opposition of those around him. When asked why he became a calligrapher, Seishuu confides that he once wanted to be a cake baker. Miwa and Tamako, who happened to be passing by and overheard the conversation between the two, suggest to Seishuu that they make a birthday cake together... On Naru's birthday, Seishuu finds a strange man following her.

Episode 9: "<Final Chapter> Seishuu makes a life choice! Naru goes to Tokyo for the first time!"
Seishuu Handa is going to Tokyo to help his father Seimei with the preparations to decorate a first-class hotel with his works. When Naru Kotoishi hears about this, she makes a fuss about going with him. Naru, who is against Seishuu going to Tokyo, convinces Seishuu to go to Tokyo with her using the "Do anything you say" ticket that Seishuu gave her for her birthday. For some reason, Seishuu and Naru meet Kosuke Kanzaki at the airport on the day they leave for Tokyo. Kosuke says that he ran away from Takao Kawafuji because he could no longer stand to be treated so harshly by him. Seishuu gives Kosuke the key to his house and says that he has no choice but to let him use it. Upon arrival, Seishuu is sent to help out and is introduced to Kei Sakuma, a calligrapher who has recently joined Kawafuji's agency. Seishuu attends a meeting with Sakuma, who is planning a solo exhibition and witnesses the work of the professionals behind the calligrapher's work... When Seishuu came home exhausted, he found Naru sulking in a corner of the room. She had been waiting the whole time for Seishuu to play with her. At that time, Seimei, who had been holed up and concentrating on his work, called Seishuu into his room. Seimei told Seishuu to come back to Tokyo. He told him to start studying to become a professional calligrapher while helping Seimei with his work at his side. The next day, Seishuu takes Naru to the zoo. But Seishuu could not get Seimei's words out of his head...

Episode 10: "Off to a new journey! What is everyone's future?"
Seishuu Handa announced that he was quitting calligraphy and decided to return to the Goto Islands with Naru Kotoishi. On the day of his departure, his manager, Takao Kawafuji, angrily asked Seishuu, "What do you mean, you're cutting off your contract with us?" Seishuu opened a calligraphy school in the village and expressed his desire to give back to the village by becoming a sensei for the children. However, Kawafuji is not convinced and leaves, saying that hanging around someone unprofitable is a waste of time, and Naru is depressed, wondering if Seishuu's relationship with Kawafuji will end. Upon their return to Goto, Seishuu and Naru are greeted by Kosuke Kanzaki, who has fled his job to stay at Seishuu's house. Kosuke tells Seishuu that he is quitting as a calligrapher, but Seishuu says, "I'm quitting too!" Meanwhile, Miwa confides that her family's liquor store is having financial difficulties and that Iwao is about to close it. Seishuu also hears from the Village Chief that Hiroshi has failed the employment exam for a restaurant in Nagasaki.

Episode 11 END: "Heartwarming island comedy, finally the last episode!"
It had been almost a year since Seishuu Handa arrived in the Goto Islands. The calligraphy school that Seishuu had set up was beginning to take off. One day, Naru Kotoishi stared at a smartphone that her father, Yuuichirou, had sent her. Miwa Yamamura and Tamako Arai noticed this and asked Seishuu if it was okay to meddle in Naru's father-daughter relationship. Meanwhile, while practicing at the calligraphy school, Naru asks Seishuu: "Sensei, are you not writing anymore?" Seishuu thinks for a moment and replies, "I think your calligraphy is my calligraphy," which saddens Naru and the others. Then Yuna, a young idol on the rise, and Akio, a cameraman, arrive in Nanatsudake village. Yuna and Akio are there for an interview for the project "Charge! Rural Life!" The theme of the project was the warmth of the countryside, and they were looking for villagers to let them stay the night, so they asked Seishuu, who happened to be passing by, to let them stay at his house...
