Here we go! A breakdown of my new track "Phosphor" with a focus on techniques used to produce the concept of "Microdrops".

As I mentioned in the video, lemme know if a tutorial on making tiny snares or a video where I make a Microdrop from scratch would be of interest to you!

The unused "w/ LAXX" thing kinda reminds me of the "get it poppin" ID 🤔

Hi hi! Originally came to get some Aetherborne stems but then got stuck on this interesting breakdown! One question that emerged for me: One sub you showed was so filtered, to me it looked like it was pretty much only a sine wave maybe with the very first overtone slightly coming through. Yet you said it's also really wide. I was sceptical how that would work with mono compatibility but in the end you showed it was perfectly fine in mono. My question would be: How? :) Doesn't have to be related to this specific sub but maybe you have some general thoughts on wide subs to share. That would be nice! Thanks!

Hey Zef! My guess is that it’s cause I used Serum’s dimension expander which creates slightly delayed copies of the original sound on the left and right that phase cancel when summed to mono. That would therefore leave just the original mono signal untouched

Thanks for the fast reply! That's interesting.. I was always super scared to create way higher peaks with this on the left and right channel individually fed into the master. But looks like it makes less of a technical difference than I thought.

I think it can turn down the volume of your sub slightly when summed to mono but honestly if it sounds okay then it’s fine
