How are you doing in this beautiful weekend!!! Hope you're kicking back and having the well deserved rest after a productive week!
Today, we continue in the fascinating quest of exploring the rich variety of artist and craft that the Wicked Community holds!~ And in this opportunity, we bring you one of the most prolific and creative artist that the Wicked models had the fortune to reach! He is a grinding one, and
fearless to experiment with several techniques and materials to give us a feast of imagination and wonderful results! Give it up for one of our best!!! The man, the myth, the Wicked Legend: Anthony Iommi, Greedy 3d Print & Paint!
Holy cow this guy has everything in his repertory! He goes from tutorials on painting, LEDs, Clear Resin, reviews of machines and experiments that crosses the mad scientist line! Everything framed on the desire to share with the dudes his findings and having fun with his art! His videos are always harmonized with a big smile and a calm voice, that drive us deep in the potential that a model holds!!!!
And there is no better way to know a little better our dear Tony than in his own voice! We asked him a couple of questions to get to know him better, and here is a couple of lines that he wanted to share with us:
Hey all - My real name is Tony Iommi , I have been an avid Sci fi and superhero fan since I was a kid ( Im 54 now) I've been 3D printing and painting now for about 3 years , learning as i go along and picking up hints and tips from the other amazing artists on here. If I were to give me any advice as a beginner Id say - practice practice practice - dont expect to be good quickly - do your research and look on youtube for all the advice you can get.
For me it takes about a week to 10 days to print and paint a model - I find the hardest bit the finer details BUT they are the most important - dont miss the little details as awkward or frustrating as they can be. Learn the art of dry brushing - its a fantastic technique and use the specialist paints too - like ice effects, water, rust, dirt, snow etc , they make the models POP. The Wicked model that gave me the most enjoyment was the werewolf statue - It was so intricate and the design was amazing - It was hard to get all the effects but I think using dry brushing and speed paints made some amazing effects.
