Kingmaker | Episode 1 (Patreon)

Thank you, everyone, for your patience and support in helping make our Pathfinder Second Edition Kingmaker campaign possible!

In the future, we will be releasing character interviews, their character's sheets, character art, and more for Patrons to enjoy!

Is this show a live stream like your shows?

This is pre-recorded, so there are no live streams!

Will there be an audio/podcast version?

There will be an audio version just for Patreon. (Sadly we can't split the RSS feed to categorize each of the shows)

Will there be a video version?

Yes! This post has the video version.

How will the show be distributed?

The first episode will be free for everyone on YouTube. The rest of the episodes will only be on Patreon behind our Travel Tier. Our Test sessions, where we were figuring out our characters, are on the Helper Tier.

Is Paizo sponsoring/involved in this show?

No! But we do need to establish our bias. I (Zoran) used to work at Paizo, the company that made Pathfinder, and this adventure, Thurston(OnCallGM), still works there.

Even though we have that connection, Narrative Declaration has had no dealings with Paizo involving this show.

Why are you making the show Patreon Exclusive?

It costs a lot of money to run projects like these. From compensating players, game masters, editors, artists, and more. Making this show exclusive allows us to raise additional funds to help better compensate those who help make these shows happen.

It also was an excellent incentive for all of us to play Kingmaker. Everyone here has been excited to run it for quite a while.

Will the episodes ever become free?

Rest assured, if there are any changes to the plan, we will promptly inform you. This is our current distribution plan for the future of the Kingmaker campaign.

What program are you using to play Kingmaker?

We use FoundryVTT with the Kingmaker Module.

Who did the overlay art? Is that a game or?

The overlay art and the avatars were drawn by SaltyJub. The avatars function by the PNGtuber+ program.

Are you using the PF2E Remaster rules?

Yes! Obviously there will be some text differences between the adventure and our rules, but everything is still compatible.

What is Kingmaker?

Kingmaker is a TTRPG adventure path made by Paizo. Although it was first made for Pathfinder 1st Edition, then later made into a video game, we will be playing the Pathfinder Second Edition version with the Pathfinder Second Edition (Remastered) rules.

Kingmaker is the story of the rise of a new nation created by the player characters. To create this kingdom, the player characters will have to face many challenges within the Stolen Lands. A place filled with various dangers like Bandits, Ogres, Undead, and many more foes for our adventurers to overcome!

The world is not set within our own custom setting of Rotgrind, but in Pathfinder's world of Golarion. Our journeys will take us close to the border of Brevoy and the other River Kingdoms.

What will the campaign be like?

You can get a good idea on how we'll act during the shows in our test sessions here.

Our focus is 1. Be entertaining & a fair bit of goofy 2. Create a fun & engaging story and 3. Be a good source to learn the game. With having fun being above all else... wouldn't that be like a 0. or?

The aim for this campaign is to create a fun narrative experience while also doing our best to get all the rules right for Pathfinder Second Edition. We're only human and we WILL get things wrong or forget things. It's natural in TTRPGs, and we'd like to set the expectation that we aim to try and be correct, but if it gets in the way of fun for the players then it's not a rule or execution we'll keep.

The structure for the show will be similar to our other productions. Due to it now being pre-recorded, several aspects like the campaign recaps and more will be tightened up. There will obviously be our fun banter and tomfoolery embedded deep in the game. But expect similar but slightly better production values compared to what our current productions bring.

We want YOU for our new nation!

We want to integrate you (our Patrons) into the campaign as our country's citizens! We will do this in a few ways:

• Letters to the Council!

We want you to submit letters to the ruling council to answer questions about the kingdom or issues you as the citizenry/military are having. Did Ogres eat your livestock? Is your mother in law invading your lands? What's the difference? Send in your concerns to the Kingdom!

• Ask the crew

Similar to our Q&A questions in the other shows, we want to move these to the credits and answer your questions about the characters & campaign! So for each episode, we'll ask folks to type in their questions in the comments of the episode. By saying "Question for X"

• Join the Military!

Maybe you want to be a foot soldier and rise through the ranks? Well sign on up, because we need so many of you stationed in completely remote areas where you definitely won't be eaten by ogres. But of course, if the troops have to be deployed, we will roll and determine how many perish. And hopefully you will survive!

• And much more!

We're still brainstorming fun ways for you to interact with the party and story. A lot of these ideas will be implemented or come into full swing whenever the kingdom building portion starts in the campaign. So stay tuned for the Patreon Posts and instructions on how to participate!
