So you thought the Manor arc was over? It’s like the swamp arc, you’re here foreve… OK, I’m kidding!


When I envisioned Season 3 of Rotgrind, I really wanted to focus on a “Dungeon Crawl” environment that pitched the players against a series of rooms they’d have to crack open and explore. In all our adventures, we hadn’t done a traditional dungeon since Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2, and none of those have been particularly large. So, Sacristi Manor really acts as the lynchpin dungeon for our third adventure. It’s also messed up as hell, with a lot of weird things and strange discoveries within.


ToTellStories did an amazing job bringing the manor to life with a great map, based on sketches I made prior to. Obviously, this took some heavy inspiration from the mansion in Resident Evil, with a suitably menacing foyer entryway, and then paths that broke off into dozens of different rooms. Overall, I think this map is one of our technical best, and something that can easily be incorporated into almost any campaign.

With our destined band out of the manor’s upper levels, it’s time to prepare for what lurks below the hidden room and into the basement…
