Pitch Meeting (Patreon)

Blinking, Jenna watched as the air seemed to crackle and fall. Following her quarry down. “You know… no matter how many times I’ve seen this, it never gets old.” She purred, laying the ray down on the desktop. The emitter slowly fading as the stored energy finished bleeding out into the aether.
Ivana’s hands slapped down onto the chair, colliding with the seat instead of the arms. Her small body wobbled unsteadily as she subconsciously adjusted to her surroundings. “That actually hurt you little…” Ivana squeaked.
Jenna lifted a hand to her mouth, covering her lips with the side of her index finger. The once warm baritone voice seemed not just softer, but higher as the ray’s effects worked. Jenna shivered as she leant over the desktop, her fingers splayed out like tense springs.
“Ugh… whatever. What was tha—” Ivana’s eyes curled inwards, tiny daggers darting up towards her.
Cracking a half smirk, Jenna tilted her head back, staring down the bridge of her nose at the shrunken woman before her. “Temper temper, Ivana.” She whispered, keeping her gaze locked onto the furious little woman.
“What…did…you…do!?” Ivana’s tinny voice snarled, the tone reminded her vaguely of her neighbors little dog. Jenna watched as Ivana’s hands balled into fists, fingers catching on the thicker threads of the seat.
“Demonstrated the device.” Jenna said with a soft sigh. “I think the investors will find the results impressive, don’t you?”
Ivana glared up at her, little lips pursed into a tight button. Her tight blue cardigan began rising and falling, faster and faster. The silence grew oppressive, Ivana’s little micro-tower fans providing a pleasant bit of white noise. Her expression began to falter slightly, and in the afternoon sun, Jenna could see a dollop of sweat dripping down the side of her face.
Eventually she began crawling back, planting her feet on the delightful red seat. ‘I wonder if it’s still warm, or if the energy… nevermind. More important details at hand.’ Jenna mused. “Now then, shall we revisit my proposal?”
