Hey ! I was really waiting for your reaction to this episode overall, and waiting to see your face when you would see the rankings 😂 Your reaction to Jungeun votes, was the same reaction we all had x) That's why I reminded you in the previous episode that we still didn't know the popularity of each trainee up to this point, and even here it's based on 233 people so a very tiny amount of people. Why Jungeun wasn't popular ? I discovered at that moment that apparently Korean voters didn't really like her visuals... I remember that I was really shocked considering how pretty she is, but then the KBS and all that, so... Then, as usual Mnet always makes very clear who they want in the line-up. But I wanted to talk about the Sujung comments in the room with the other trainees. Like yes, it's an individual competition and in some ways it's fair for her to think like that but I see two major issues with it personaly : 1) It's an individual competiton to be part of a group, not be solo. So for me, teamwork is as important as dance/vocal/rap skills as well as your attitude. And here, it's not the best look for Sujung on this. 2) And yes I know Mnet evil edits etc, but she said it and for me that was her mistake, even if it's your mindset don't say that type of things when you know this will be on camera and Mnet WILL jump on it. Also, when you see just after that Saebi giving some of her part to Koko, and help her improve it, it's realy not a good look on Sujung. Other example, remember when Hanbin halped Hao creating the choreo for the dance break of Over Me, they weren't on the same team, and Hao was literally Hanbin biggest "rival". People always love those friendships and seeing trainees help each other. Saebi really had the healthiest mindset for me when she said to Koko "I can help you get a good score and get a high score too". For me it's this mindset that I really like "I hope the other are doing an amazaing job, and that I just do better than them". Also my top 6 at this point was, in no particular order : Jungeun, Saebi, Mai, Jiyoon, Koko, Fuko. And my three votes as we had only three were : Jungeun, Saebi and Mai. I think my ideal top 6 at the time was Jeemin Jiyoon Jungeun Fuko Koko and Saebi, there we’re a couple girls that we’re interchangeable for me like Mai and Koko. I really wanted the stronger vocalists to make it and I looked at who had the most potential to shine and grow! This episode had really solidify Jiyoon in my ranking like she just slayed from start to finish.

Just want to give out a general idea for some trainees' popularity, Jeemin is actually super popular both in Korea and global, Jiyoon have the Korean and global's hearts too, and Koko is very well loved by both. Yuju, Juwon, and Gyuri are on the weaker sides. Saebi surprising although fits KBS have a fairly weak core fandom compare to the other popular girls (bit shocked when I first find out). Sujung wasn't liked by Korean for her height and her sayings in this episode have some i-fans turned against her. Koreans don't like Jungeun not only because of KBS but also colorism because she is a few shades darker than the others. I feel like she is the one that producers are not sure whether to include her in the final lineup or not because her editing have ups and downs or no storyline asides from with Jiyoon. Also you're not wrong it's very obvious who the producers want in the group yet it's hard to criticize too because the ones they want in the debut group do lineup with what most fans want.

I'm sorry but I really don't get the hype around Jeemin, I feel like skill wise she should not be in first 6 - I don't get what they are voting on but this is not right in my opinion. Its so obvious that they already know who they want to debut with this narrative they are pushing... like c'mon.... Saebi and Jungeun not at the top? So rigged. Lets be honest among the 3 groups Jungeon was the best main vocal and Saebi best center. (didn't watch the show before, I'm watching it through these reactions so I might be wrong on the narrative and they might just want to make it entertaining to watch)

isnt being popular kind of an skill people will see sth in them to vote be it potential/skill/or heck maybe they are just funny but yea Jeemin has her RUNext popularity and yes i was on of her voters without spoiling anything (looked up what i posted around this time) "i would love if Jeemin was center she just gives me center vibes" by me after that episode (tweaked just a bit for kontext)

Imo Jeemin just has the ability to make people look at her. Like regardless of skills, when a trainee is captivating enough that people vote for them just because of their aura, It usually means they’ll end up becoming very popular/ a stan attractor, and I think every groups need at least 1 member that will be automatically eye catching to non fans and get them interested in the group. To me trainees like Jeemin Saebi and Mai have that appeal, while trainees like Jungeun and Jiyoon are the ones that may be less viral but will get very loyal fans because of their overwhelming talent. Also Jeemin is a very good dancer with great stage presence and she has a decent enough voice. Sure she may not be the best but Idk if i’d say there’s no appeal to her talent wise.

I personally think the producers have a bias towards Sarang. I still don't get how much praise she gets or the 2nd place at all. She is definitely talented and cute, but I'll even place juwon higher than her. I think because she is so young, there is a lack of maturity in her stage presence. My top 6 are jiyoon, fuko, jungeun, saebi, juwon and koko Now that I'm done with the reaction, Saebi is such a star! Koko, saebi, jungeun and fuko were the best for me. I did not really enjoy jeemin's performance that much especially on the vocal side. But her presence and popularity are so big that it overpowered the vocals. I really like Jiyoon and I loved her attitude this whole episode. Thanks Jeff for the reaction!

Yea, I see your point.. She is charismatic on stage, but based on all the performances this episode I don't think she should be at the top. I'd say her strongest point is that she's a gorgeous girl. But that's just my personal opinion. Its a preference thing.

NAME

If my memory is serving me right this is the last time they will ever critique fuko or give a feedback even in the interims. They will do it again in the finale or ep 11 which is the most insane critique ever. I'll get back once we get there.

Favorite performance was definitely love sick girls, so many talented girls in that group, so mad for Yuju with the technical issue she had with her mic, I remember voters at the time being frustrated that they criticized her for it when it wasn't her fault. Also anyone else notice Jungeun getting 0 screen time this episode, even when the producers were giving the feedback and scores at the end, they completely skip over Jungeun even though her and Saebi carried the vocals. Either way, was a great episode and reaction and I'm looking forward to the next!
