I agree I like Unconditional more but I understand why it was made a single and Smoke was the TT. I think Smoke suits the vibe they were going for with the album better and Smoke was better for TikTok. Plus I do wonder how much Prada financially contributed to his solo debut/music. I think his Can't Get You music film was a collab w/ Prada.

Jaehyun participated in writing lyrics and composing UNCONDITIONAL. 💚 I'm so amazed with his pen game like he never miss fr! From his sm station singles to now, all the songs were sooo good! and he's also heavily involved in producing all those, the TALENT!!! and for me I think it's also because of his voice, like there's something magical about it, it makes any song sound so good when he sings it 🥰 Oh and I love this song better too!! But I also get why it was not included on his first album. I think SMOKE better fits the overall concept they were going for his album (Roses could be a great tt too tho). But this song also deserves to be promoted. It's unfortunate because of the enlistment he got no time for the promotions 😔 lucky some fans they were able to see this live on his fancon.

What Jaehyun said on his J's Unconditional Radio video special was that the album was already done and he was prepping for release when Unconditional came along. He wanted to release something lighter and witty before heading off to the military, so Unconditional came out as a single.

OMG, the legendary Vlive from the 13th floor, where the comments said Mark's head is flat af and Jaehyun and Johnny were dying laughing xD The headband is quite iconic! He showed it off in one of his relay cam videos and talked about how it was like $2 or something and he loved to wear it at the dorm/in his downtime. Unconditional has pretty much the same core team as Roses: Jaehyun himself, plus his school friend Hyun and Taneisha Jackson are credited on both tracks. And the song came about when they drew some ideas around - the MV was filmed in LA simply because Jaehyun wanted to. That's also why he mentioned California in the first verse! :D Not sure, if you consider watching the recording behind of Smoke, but it shows off his layering nicely and how many "hidden" vocals the tracks actually has. Made me appreciate it a lot more! I can't really pick a favorite between Smoke and Unconditional, both are amazing in their own right and it feels like they have quite different purposes. If you get a recording of his fancon you'll get to see the Unconditional choreo, which is actually somewhat "cunty? Is that the newest term? xDD It definitely would've worked as a title track as well, but yeah KBS banned the song from broadcasting because of the Prada mention.

Hi Jeff:)) hope you are fine . yes Unconditional is such a vibe and i love it so much. He went to the military today . Hope that he will stay healthy there and comeback stronger in May 2026........... PS: i am not trying to pressure you and i am sorry if it's sound like that but i hope you will be able to watch Stage fighter because there is Ballet dancers, Comtemporary and Korean dancers and i am sure you will love it :)) have a nice day

I think u should watch recording behind for both Smoke and Unconditional.. i personally like smoke better and he did such a good job in the recording studio like his input and the way he was very serious during the recording process made me appreciate it even more. Jaehyun did the harmony and layering for both Smoke and Unconditional. He wrote and composed Unconditional. He actually filmed the Unconditional mv without having it recorded in the studio yet so they were filming it in LA based on the vocal guide prepared by Jaehyun. Also, Jaehyun performed Unconditional at his fancon and my goddd the song became 10x better with the choreo 😭 wish we got a dance performance video for Unconditional but jaehyun said he didnt have enough time for it 😭 think u can find his performance on youtube
