For #7, I have "Follow" by Pentagon! In this countdown, I react/analyze the dance practices that soon led to the noteworthy performances on the show! Stay tuned for #6 next week!

PS. Sorry this was a bit delayed! I meant to film and release it this past Sunday, but I totally forgot and by the time I remembered, I have already taken down my filming set up.

The way I literally was listening to Pentagons Follow when this dropped. Honestly though, Hui’s vocals absolutely astound me. They’re piercing and beautiful and add such a uniqueness to every song. Also, to add, I’m pretty sure PTG were one of the few groups who sang live. It’s amazing as much as it kinda sucks that Hui had to reproduce two songs this round (collab and just for PTG) but he did wonderfully.

Hui and Wooseok’s composition is always👌🏼 I loved the part where the backup dancers where on their knees and then in a cascade aggressively brang their hands down in time with the drums. It accompanied the music so well. As if they were hitting on actual drums. Theatrical aspects like this made follow one of my favourite performances too. And Hui’s high notes😢... For more amazing vocal performances by him I recommend you check out his stages on the show Breakers. 👌🏼 (I have a google docs link for all the episodes with eng subs if you ever want to check it out in your free time)

I gave him a few information on Breakers uwu and I think he saw "for you" also the High note in Navigation 😅

Honestly, I was conflicted about this perfomance. I am a Monbebe and I love the original song. I wouldn't say PENTAGON 'butchered' FOLLOW, but I personally didn't like how they interpreted the song. FOLLOW is a high-energy song and quite upbeat. Personally, this haunting vibe didn't click with me.

Loved this--thanks for your insights! Here are my suggestions for other things to do on Patreon: react to guides (like an unhelpful guide to ), react to vocals--most main vocalists do covers and individual performances. Doyoung and Taeil from NCT have some nice ones. Pentagon's Jinho was doing one a month under Magazine Ho (every one of which shows why he debuted with SM the Ballad along with Shinee's Jonghyun, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, & TRAX's Jay Kim). Jae from Day 6 makes what I would call mini-songs under the name Eaj (I wish Pacman was twice as long). If you're going to do another show after Kingdom, i-Land is airing now. I think the trainees are all from BigHit since Bang PD is on it.

That’s fair! I think they needed to change it up quite a bit tho to avoid direct comparisons with the original. It’s always gonna be hard to live up to the original :)

Thanks for all the suggestions! Im planning to do Dance War, Dancing High, Mix Nine, produce and/or The Unit after Kingdom but as I grow my channel, I’ll have more liberties with what I can add on here so these suggestions are good!

I'm so happy you enjoyed this performance as much as I did! I was so surprised that the vast majority of people seem to not be as keen on this performance but I absolutely loved it. Maybe I'm a bit biased as I'm a monbebe + a new universe but everything about this stage (especially the heavenly vocals) really hit home with me and I'd say this performance is probably one of my favourites off the show, if not my actual favourite. Can't wait for the rest of the countdown ^^
