So as you saw i was not posting for a long time. And I’m sorry for that. It feels like my body and mind are adopting to medicine i use and every next day i feel better and better.

I was experiencing something new for me. Something in between 2d and 3d And it is exciting for me.

I work in a program called Mental Canvas. I love it and hate it at the same time .
Love it because it gives you a great opportunity to turn 2d in to 3d and i love how it looks like.

Hate it because it does not have a autosave option and i lost a half of my work at some point because it crashed some had to redraw everything. And it was crashing all the time after that as well. I was saving my file every 5 minutes to keep my work.

I was planning to add more characters in to scene and some details but i cant because it just crashes now every time i try to draw something and it is weird.

But at the same time i want to work in it again. I want to draw different png layers in Procreate and put them in to Mental Canvas. Will see how it works .

What do you think about scenes like this one? Do you like it? Should i try to draw something nsfw in it? 👀

I need your opinion and thank you for your support .

Looks awesome

luce!

This is great! Reminds me of someone on youtube (can’t remember his name offhand) who merges 2D and 3D, like you are. I think this is a really great step forward for the type of stuff you’re doing, especially since your 2D work already kinda looks 3D.

lildawg

Really neat! Very stylish! Keep going with it- should be interesting:D

Chelodoy

I just want something new , i really feel like i can do a lot of great interesting stuff with such instrument as this program

joeltexter 100

Its looking awesome so far, cant wait to see what else you could add

luce!

Agreed, and I think this is that something haha. It sucks that there’s no autosave feature! Same reason I hate Photoshop.

OddOutput

That looks really cool! I'd love to see what else you would be able to do with it.

KibaOkami

I'd definitely love seeing a piece like this every now and then! That's so cool

James Hardeman

Looks neat, gives me a parappa the rapper vibe

Piper

I'm a fan! I'm certainly excited to see where you take it and evolve as an artist! Best of luck in your future endeavors!!

Geth Who

Man, this is really freaking cool. If it can transition neatly from this to a looped animation or longer NSFW in the style of your prior work, it's going to make an amazing way to start or end short vids. Hell, I can kind of see it as a way to montage between animations or pics, like a sort of 'what different lewdnesses are the women in these apartments up to?' kind of thing.

Chelodoy

I’m so glad to hear that you love it. I was afraid that it is too much out of format

Damighty

Looks really interesting and I like it. Looks like the tool has great potential. Just sharing a thought: I am not an artist, but I feel like the use of perspective needs special attention when creating something with a tool like this. Like a bad angle really has the potential to "ruin the illusion", so managing camera placement, drawings, lighting/shading and all the rest seems like a mountain to climb 😵‍💫

The Flur

Man this is super cool I’ve never seen anything like this before honestly and if this is where your interests align man go for it! I can’t wait to see what other scenes you come up with

Robert Jenkins

Am I a bad person for saying it somewhat looks like furry Rick and morty?

ScowlingMask

Awesome work! Can't put my finger on it but it reminds me of a style I saw somewhere a very long time ago

Lemonade Rat

I like it, its weird in a cool and stylistic way. I love the way the camera moves past characters and the song works well over the scene. It would be interesting to see you experiment with Mental Canvas in the future.

Bobby O'Sullivan

Damn that is incredibly impressive and opens up to different ideas that's for sure. Love it.

Fractal-Ryft

This is very neat and would love to see you do more 2D/3D stuff! 2.5D? Meh. As long as the term works.

Fen Longpaw

Having overcome the self inflicted funkiness trying to watch it on my rather eccentric hardware and software configuration, not playing nice with Patreon trying to handle embedded Vimeo, I have to say I dig it. That was a pretty sweet animation and your friend's tunes definitely enhanced the experience.

Darallex

I think it's cool for the scenery and maybe broadening your horizons but not sure if it's best for optimizing your works if it's constantly gives you problems so what's bigger the pros or the cons

Keoushe Sioke

I'd try to find a fix for the constant crashing, like maybe it's been happening to others and someone has a solution but for your mental I'd probably work in another program if possible but this looks amazing I love seeing these.

Saif Ali

It looks trippy but I don't see how you can't utilize the 3D space for your 2D characters

GeorgMID

все добре чуваче, не переживай через контент) тобі краще і це головне)

pj wolf

If it is constantly crashing and you have to save every 5 minutes in order to have something to show for all your work, that sounds like... not the greatest program to have or to work with. Or perhaps not the greatest program to work with in your current set up. The picture/video itself is interesting, and I'd be at least interested in whatever you decide you wanna make with it. But if you can find another program that is more stable and/or works better with your set up, that might be better in the long run than having to deal with those frustrations.

Sweatpants Joe

Idk if this is helpfull or not, but after watching the vimeo I can tell you that Blender Grease Pencil will do exactly this and more for you. The artist Worthikids on Youtube uses Blender to create their animations. Blender is free 3D modeling software, and there's lots of tutorials online for how to use its grease pencil feature.

do_more_gooder

it seemed a little uncanny at first, but once we got into the shop i saw more of the appeal in that type of style. It reminds me of how "paper mario" and "bug fables" look it could be an interesting way to get 2D sprites (if you could call them that) to interact in a 3D environment. as for the crashing, that sounds so dang frustrating. something must be causing it!

Chelodoy

I will try it . The biggest problem is time I spend on learning even easiest program

Chelodoy

I know how i can use. I was already trying out some sketches. It won’t loook like this with such camera movement but you know. It will gve a trippy effect anyway

calidola

The moment I saw the clip I related to Dedouze's work. And as Sweatpants Joe Say, I too think Grease pencil is the path you want. Blender is daunting the first day but is really easy to pick up, I tell you from experience, is completely doable and it will grant amazing results.

Sweatpants Joe

i agree with calidola. there IS a learning curve to it. but i think it will solve your crashing problem and give you even better tools. since it is also 3D modeling software you can also use models to suppliment certain parts of your work if you feel the desire/need. So buildings and envirinments can be made ompletely 3D to save you lots of time and effort.

Speedboy

Interesting

Bay Buchanan

This is pretty sweet.. I'll bet if you keep on these they'll be really unique.

Slikfiji

I love it! this is so cool!

Jaden

Something about the music give it Adult Swim bumper vibes and I love it

Carmelroro

It reminds me of parappa the rappa and I love it.

Halfeb Jones

Yes, add nsfw. I agree. Wonderful work so far though.

Rueme

This is really cool! Would love to see more of this, and NSFW sounds good too!

Acrum

Yo, that looked really cool!

Panda

Alexis

Pretty cool NGL

Peyton

That looks amazing!
