Chapter is up! Now with extra wolf! Hope you all like it.
Things are going well here in the Murder Shack. I have a fancy new office chair, which is good because I was using a dining room chair and it was super uncomfortable. I also got some new noise cancelling headphones. Our finances are always a little tight, so sometimes I have a hard time getting new gear, but I use my headphones every time I write. They are weirdly necessary. I've basically conditioned myself to write with them on. It's like a weird muscle memory/pavlovian response. Headphones on = time to write. (Have any of you have ever seen that old Slyvester Stallone movie over the top, where he is part of an underground arm wrestling circuit? THIS IS A REAL MOVIE. We watched it so many times as kids. Anyway, there's a line in there about when he turns his hat around, it's like flipping a switch. My headphones are like that.) My old ones worked fine, though my kids kept stealing them, but they weren't noise cancelling. Skullcandy was having a sale. I'm not made of stone, people. My last two sets of headphones were Skullcandy. I like them a lot, and their customer service is excellent. Anytime we've had issues, we send them in and then they send us new ones or issue a credit. They back their product up, which isn't super common these days. Anyway, commercial over. (I promise they aren't sponsoring this post. I'm just excited about my headphones.)
Other than that, we're doing okay. The kids seem to have a hang of the online school thing for the most part. Squirrels ate all my tomato plants. (One of my friends is bringing me new ones, which we will NOT stupidly place under the bird feeder.) We're still basically only leaving the house when it's absolutely necessary. My mom's white cell count is super low, so she's basically susceptible to catching anything at all right now. I had to talk to Smalls again about washing his hands and covering his sneezes and coughs. We've talked about it a lot, obviously, but a refresher is helpful.
How are you all doing out there in the world? Anything helping you stay sane?
Hugs from the Murder Shack!
