BTLN Chapter 6 (FINALLY) (Patreon)

This chapter took forever? Partially because the holidays and my booster shot, and then my family had to go into quarantine because my oldest son got Covid. Luckily, we're all vaccinated and he got a mild case. (My mom is actually in Mississippi to help take care of my gran, who also got covid. My mom is fine, but we're all a little worried about my gran. She's 93 and not of robust health to begin with.)

 Anyway, we're all quarantined at home until the 24th. Writing with Smalls in my face has not been great. I love him, but that kid has zero chill.

I tried writing after he goes to bed, but my brain has been pudding. I have watched some questionable holiday films, so there's that. 

This chapter was difficult to find a song for, so I went with a classic by the Ronettes. If you have a better suggestion, I'm all ears. 

It was fun to name another gnome. I've been holding on to Merry Death since I wrote NTS. She is based on my friend Merrideth, who is a playwright/screenwriter I know from graduate school...who is literally a ninja. Like, she went to Japan a lot to study ninjitsu. I'm so excited to finally bring Merry Death into the story.

What do you all think of the name Merciless Blade? When I named the gnomes in book two, I basically harassed all my friends for name suggestions and ended up with some real winners. (Most of the gnomes were named by friends.) So again, if you're dying to name a gnome, or have a really good suggestion, there will likely be more in the story, so hit me up in the comments.
