You wake up in your ex-girlfriend's bed. What happened last night?

A Note from Moon

Hi friends! Happy holidays. It has been too long since I shared a new story. My last two uploads were slice-of-life audios, so I thought it'd be nice to post a story-based audio as my next exclusive roleplay. I swore that I would go easy on the sound effects to cut down on editing time, but there's something addicting about adding the creak of a cabinet door or the clank of a mug being set down on a wooden table. Any artists here? You understand, right?

How has your holiday season been? Are you celebrating anything this month? December has been such an expensive month; I've spent way too much on airfare and Christmas gifts. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I can't wait to chat with you all again. I have so much to talk about, so many revelations, so many plans.

Thank you to those who have wished me happy holidays in my DMs! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your holiday season and New Year's too! Any fun plans? New Year's resolutions?

I'll chat with you soon!

With love,

Moon

I'm a former video editor, and I sometimes handled sound design as well. Yes, it is very easy to get lost in placing sound effects! I've only worked on one full-length audio drama and mostly as an actor, but doing sound design for a visual medium, it's surprising the sorts of FX people aren't consciously aware they're hearing while watching, but would totally notice if they were missing. There are a LOT. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your sound design, it really adds to the ambience and immersion (the soreness bath audio in particular was a banger. I don't know if you recorded your own sounds for the water in the tub or used library sounds, but if you did use a library the implementation was VERY good.) If I could offer a single (mostly playful) note: you have in your library this one really distinctive "creaking" sound effect, and it has become really familiar to me over the last year. I'm not sure if it's meant to be a creaky door or a creaky floor board, but it could work as both. Every time I hear it I smile, because it reminds me of that one vase shattering sound effect in movies and TV that's so familiar to people now that it is mostly used in comedies and satires. 😂

Yes, there can be a lot of SFX in a seemingly simple scene! Regarding the bath audio, I recorded my own water sounds so that the scrubbing and splashing aligned perfectly with the script. And about that creak, I know exactly which one you're referring to! Perhaps it's time I refresh my library; that one has been in there since the beginning of my channel. Though it's amusing that you noticed! :,)
