Hey all!

So this is something I've been playing around with....

The idea I had was to contrast the madness and the busyness of the 'world' with the beauty of ever present awareness....
And so I mixed sounds for effect!

Its a little unusual I know but I'd love to hear what ye think!

!! Amazing, I finished meditating for myself just minutes ago. Then this appears! But it's bedtime right now so I'll continue the calm into day 2 of the road trip. I liked it, very much. The beginning, for me, was the key. Those are the sounds we frequently heard, so is easy to get in and start follow the words. The way you manage to leave us feeling aware of our inner peace and existence was very smooth. Thanks and still in awe by your work.

This was amazing. I thought it was really effective how you started with all of life stressors and then smoothly transitioned to where the listener needed to be. I really loved how the last part was just the sound of birds. In the end, I felt like I was floating. It was so weird, I almost felt like I was outside on the grass, on the edge of taking a nap on a warm, spring day. Amazing since today is a cold, dreary day. lol I would love to hear more of this kind of meditation. You did a great job on this!

This was lovely! I'll admit the beginning wound me up a bit, but you handled the transition & contrast really well. It's an interesting concept & a very cool exploration of it -- good things happen when you let the energy flow, a chara. ☺

I liked the contrast between your voice and the background sounds, especially the violence part, because we are suddenly aware of all the things we can experience through the day. This quote came to my mind while listening to the audio: Life is full of tough decisions, and nothing makes them easy. But the worst ones are really your personal koans, and tormenting ambivalence is just the sense of satori rising. Try, trust, try, and trust again, and eventually you'll feel your mind change its focus to a new level of understanding. So far I loved what you did here also with sound effects and birds chirping...you should know that your meditation audios are always welcome and much appreciated!

The Dash by Linda Ellis I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning…to the end. He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash… would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent YOUR dash?

This is a new side of you, Gael! It began like a poetic / spoken word piece. Then, it unravelled into a bliss of auditory pleasure. Once the silence was soundtracked by chirping birds, I like how it mellowed peacefully into a short pause and left us in state of mindfulness. Continue exploring, Gael 💕

Very well layered and I will say it is something completely new compared to your other meditation/calming audios. It's a nice evolution and even though I know that the background and the layering of other sounds won't be everyone's cup of tea- it certainly worked for me, and I liked it very much personally. That being said; your voice is beautiful and calm without sounding one-note in this, which is nice. It also doesn't come off as bored (can happen when people try to sound calm, just saying). It's a very good piece and I can say that I will enjoy this many times in the foreseeable future. Thank you for this experiment and for sharing it with us. I hope to see you continue exploring this side of your craft, but only if you enjoy it too.

That certainly was different, but altogether lovely. It's almost like the beginning ramped up the tension before providing relief, for me at least. The way it started made the meditation even more welcome, if that's possible. The phrase about the dash between dates really stood out for me, as well. What follows is beautiful. Your voice is so calming, gently drawing the listener's attention inward, and on the present moment. Well done.

As I was listening to this, I just kept getting calmer and calmer. Less thoughts were running through my mind. I was still in bed listening to this, and I fell asleep when the birds started chirping, I was that calm. Beautiful piece ☺️

Great piece. Presenting us with the all too familiar sounds of the everyday hustle and then peacefully graduating our thought into focusing not on the busyness surrounding us but on the quiet moments. Listening within the quiet moments. Beautifully calming. 😊

Saw the notification as I was just getting up, so I popped my buds in and laid back down! Your voice layered with the sounds was quite nice....and the ending, drifting into nature with the bird sounds transported me back to my nature walk yeaterday. (I'll share a few of my pics in a bit) The only thing I would want a little less of was the stressful sounds at the beginning. But aside from that it was lovely! Thank you!

Going to share some pretty personal stuff, but I think it helps explain the impact this audio had on me. I have PTSD, and a whole slew of other disorders, but that’s not important. I’m hypersensitive to loud noises, chaotic background noises and other stuff - and there have been times where G’s voice has startled me. I know, how can such a sweet voice startle anyone? Don’t worry though, I’m working through all this with a therapist. Anyway. As I started listening, I started getting anxious and started feeling tightness in my chest. I wasn’t sure why I was reacting the way I was because it’s not a *super* crazy audio. I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue listening, but that’s when I noticed the atmosphere changing - my body wasn’t tensing up anymore. I started to cry because I was amazed at how quick my anxiety went away and I eventually dozed off to sleep. Ha, I don’t know how to end this...but I felt something. Thank you, G. This is honestly the kind of audio that got me hooked in the first place (though I most definitely stayed for the nsfw stuff). Yet another fine example of your talent. Like some of the other lovelies I really liked the transition from the sounds of stressors to the peacefulness. More of this please!

This was extremely calming for me. I think the combination of the everyday noise transitioning to silence and your calming voice can possibly become an aid for those learning how to physically filter out background noise in everyday life. This would definitely be a go-to for me when I need to block all of the BS around me...which is often! From a technical side there's a difference with the sound of your voice. Not your physical speaking voice but in the way your recorded voice plays. It isn't as as crisp as it usually is, it sounds a bit muffled.

I thought this audio was...interesting. And I know I say that about almost every audio, but hear me out 😛 The first part was challenging for me to get through. The honking, sirens and general hustle and bustle in the beginning, combined with the noise of whatever elaborate construction project the apartment above me was doing, plus the sound of my hard-of-hearing neighbour shouting into her telephone, and mixed with the headache I was having made me want to tap out <i>really fucking bad</i>. I was trying to focus on the most calming sound (i.e., your voice), but I could still feel my jaw clenching and my stress level rising 😕 I’m glad I stuck with it, though. Because like most stressful, unpleasant things, the intrusive noises - both in the audio and IRL - eventually stopped (and much sooner than I’d expected, thank God). I tried not to think too hard about the questions that acted as the segue from chaos to meditation because that’s the trap I’m most likely to fall into - overthinking the question. Which is probably ironic because although questions like “Who am I?”, “Why am I here?”, and “What am I searching for?” seem quite complex, I suspect the answer is probably a lot simpler 🤔 I really enjoyed the meditation portion of the audio, and I’m historically not much of a meditation person. I had to listen to it twice to fully absorb it - once to focus primarily on my breathing and...well, being “present”, I suppose. The second time was to hone in on the dialogue, which was probably the part I enjoyed the most. Now, I know you can’t really stuff a huge monologue into a meditation audio. But I’m always interested to hear nuggets of knowledge related to the broader concept that we already know everything we need to know, and that everything we’re searching for is already within us. (Or at least I <i>think</i> that might be one of the ideas you’re getting at, based on my own reading. I’ll confess that I had difficulty wrapping my mind around the concepts you talked about in your depression/anxiety/other meditation audios, so I went out and bought a book to help explain some of it in more detail. I figured it wouldn’t have been fair of me to make a request like <i>”In no less than 1000 words, please elaborate further on this topic!”</i>) Overall I’d definitely be keen to hear more audios like this. I personally wouldn’t be overly particular about the technical aspects of it (e.g., what sounds effects you use, the tone/pacing of your speech, or even whether or not you present it as a guided meditation). I’d be more interested in what other concepts you’d bring to the table - perhaps something that you’ve not yet touched on in your previous anxiety or meditation audios? (For example, I know you’ve talked about the majority of thoughts being bullshit, the idea of acknowledging thoughts but just letting them pass, and focusing inward on your breathing to help “re-centre” yourself).<br><br>I hope what I’m saying makes sense 😕 Doc’s long-winded and confusing feedback is long-winded and confusing 🤭

This was very interesting. I like when you stretch yourself, and experiment with other genres. You have such a great voice, energy, and pacing for meditation pieces. With a little tweaking, this could easily be a legit ASMR piece. Great job!

So I just listened and I really enjoyed it, I very much resonate with this. Even the noises you added in the beginning that are commonly referred to as unpleasant or causing dissonance, were regarded in my mind as neither positive nor negative sounds; just simply sounds that happen in this world. I try to remind myself that the content of this world has no real emotive trait attached to it until I decide to attach a positive or negative label, myself. Cars honking or heavy machinery noises are just sounds—loud or quiet, they in themselves aren't intending to cause unpleasantness yet we often seem to give personalities to these things so we can justify our distaste. This audio put me quickly back in this kind of mind state, and I could just sink into the beautiful ease of accepting the content of earth and enjoying the space that holds the content. # nonresistance 4 sho'. That typical "all is well" mantra I'd hear repeated on cassette tapes were funny to me growing up. Now, they're even funnier! Because they are more applicable to my mind than ever. "Well" doesn't have to mean our emotive sense of "good" with the absence of our sense of "bad"; it's just an "Ism"... all is well because it exists, for now. And when it no longer exists, it'll all still be well. And it's nice to exist alongside audios like these today (Also, I say funny because that's my default setting. Kind of my version of acceptance/nonresistance) Alright no more rambling I promise 🙈 Stay #woke 😜

Wow, I really like it! ☺️ My mind is constantly going, so meditation can be hard for me to get into. Being easily distracted, the beginning portion made me forget it was a meditation audio. So it was like a sneak meditation, ya know? I loved the fade-out too. I personally haven't heard anything like it before, so this is really neat. I'm hella relaxed now 😁

Hallo to Claudia and the Fraugen! Today was a day of cleaning house and drawing for me. A friend has been having trouble finding a good picture for her new RPG character, so I offered to do one for her (because I'm lazy and pretty much trace a model's face and then go nuts with hair and costume design). I've only ever done one other "commissioned" piece, and she's quite picky, so this was an...interesting experience. I did manage to convince her that anatomy was getting the better of her eyes, though; had I continued to do as she asked, this would've been a woman with a paper-thin lower lip. Just waiting now for final approval of the sketch before I do ink and colors sometime this week. It's not as if it has to be done right away. And now, this: <b>Chocoholic, workoholic, or sexoholic?</b> — Oh, give me a chocolate addiction any day. It would be expensive, since I can't just buy cheap milk chocolate, but it would be healthier (on some levels) than working too much, and I can't fathom being addicted to sex. <b>No more sex or no more songs</b> — Can I say I'd give up sex when I've never had it to start with? Because that's my choice. :V <b>Love a lion or cuddle a croc?</b> — A crocodile's mouth can be taped shut, so I'll give a kiss to that croc, thanks. <b>Feathery or fishy alter ego?</b> — Transforming into a bird would be more useful in my land-locked neck of the woods. <b>The pen or the paintbrush?</b> — Actually, I'm not sure I'd want to write like Shakespeare, but I would like to know how to do proper art pieces. So I'd like to paint like Rembrandt.

I really liked this one. The sound effects worked really well; they didn't overpower your voice or words, and they went from "chaotic to peaceful" nicely. I wouldn't mind hearing more of these :)

I don’t think I’ve ever felt a year pass so quickly before, and I’m not entirely sure why. I’d like to believe that it was due to the whole <i>time flies when you’re having fun!</i> phenomenon, but I think I actually feel more apprehensive because of it - life can be short indeed 🤭<br><br>Well, damn. I know there’s still tons that I need to work on both personally and professionally, so here’s to hoping that 2018 is the Year of Fixing My Dash! 😎<br><br>(I vote we start using hashtags like #FixMyDash, #PimpMyDash, and #ThisDashTho, even if just to confuse the hell out of everyone else 🤓👍)

Fuck man. I wish I had seen the notification for this earlier today. I’ve been fighting off a severe panic attack for the majority of the day with political bullshit in my news feed. Hard to not get sucked in and feel despair. Not sure why today set me off more than any of the other months and months of this shit. This audio started to trigger the same panic in the beginning in that you were hitting the nail on the head for what I’ve been spiraling over. Wanted to NOPE out of it but knew you’d get it to a better place. Very calming. Wording, spacing, and general pace throughout are all well measured for maximum soothing affect. Felt zen as fuck by the end. Have you, or would you, consider doing a yoga flow audio? Not sure if that’s something you practice as part of your workout regime.

I can't really meditate like this, cause whenever I listen to you, I have movies playing in my head. But that's exactly what caught me in this one - the first half of the audio. Cause it sounded like an intro to a sci-fi movie. That really got me lost in there in the best way. ❤🎬

I think this is a really unique and different idea. Listening to you being aware of your breathing and practicing mindfulness as an outsider provides an interesting perspective and makes the appeal to try it more alluring. The use of every day sounds is really effective too because it really is what we are surrounded by every day, and then moving into the silence shows us how if we try we can find our own peace within the chaos. I like your new ideas and experiments. They are working out really well. :)

Hi, Gael! Yay a meditation audio! I loved that you used a first person perspective. "What am I?", "I notice my breath, thoughts slowing down...", "I notice the sights and the sounds"... <br><br> it didn't feel like someone else was telling me what to do. It felt like it was me with the right words, right pacing, right thoughts. I eased into it and trusted the voice right right away because it felt more personal. <br><br> Thanks, Gael. This was lovely. If the voices in my head suddenly sounded like you, I'd be very happy. ❤❤❤

I think it's great - thx v much for the preview. Here are some thoughts: <br><br> I don't know a lick about Eastern traditions, but I can relate to satori as a moment of realization accompanied by peace. The very simple language you used was a help to me. The words - specifically the path taken moving from point A to point B - is what hooks me. For me, the connection is about feeling a real harmony with where I end up. I guess I hope to carry that moment? Technique? with me. It seems that I'm shopping for concepts that I can fold into my everyday way of being. <br><br> Some of the opening tensional list fit for me - but that may be more individual (e.g. my hot button would have been managing gaps and edgy insistent voices 🙂). The final soundscape was cool, but the specific scene wasn't particularly a fit for me - I think the ocean/meadow ambient sounds you've shared are neat. Even a sort of dampened snowscape. I really liked the way it extended the moment and faded out. <br> <br> I wonder about how folks find their way to meditative audio that's a fit for them. Assuming you have a channel(s) in mind, the general categories seem so broad as to be of little help. Having some deliberate language/visuals to set context could help the noobs find you. The tune up on the Gaelforce descriptive snippet looks great - maybe there's a version for meditative work that fits under that umbrella. <br><br> I really liked it - looking forward to seeing what comes next. 🙂

Addendum - rather than opening with the causes of the as-is state of disconnect/dissonance, maybe there would be more commonality in how folks experience that state: edgy, pressured, worried, overloaded etc
