A question - In some audios you say "Mo stór" (not sure if I've spelt it properly) and here you mention "Mo stóirín". Google translator, for the first, gives me "My dear" and for the second "My darling" Is it correct? Are there multiple meanings to the same phrase? Also, I must add that when I typed "Mo stór", it asked me if I wanted to search for "Motor". Such are the woes of using an automated translator :D :P

Good morning, mo stóirín geal féin!🦁🍀😙❤ What a lovely, lyrical language. Thanks for teaching us some of it, G. I hope you'll do it again sometime.😄🍀❤

Grace

Question: Is a "paddywagon" like Irish carpooling? Just curious. 🤔🍀

So much fun! Thank you 😊

Rachael

"I will ya" will definitely be getting put to good use!! 😉

Okay I love this! This is too cute.

Your presentation of this lesson was lovely 😍 Thank you!

I'm currently sucking diesel at the office but this started the day off right. Your happiness is infectious and I feel how deeply you love this language ☺️

“Tá mo chroí istigh ionat” was the sweetest 🍭 on my tongue ! Also you forgot the tag “Try Not To Tingle” bc bc bc 😭

Brigid's Ember (Siren Historian & Mayoral Furniture Tester)

Tar éis an taifeadadh seo (agus é ar fheabhas!), ba maith liom mo léine "Cork slang" a chaitheamh! Tá na habairtí "I will, yeah" agus "Sure, it'll be grand" air. What a delightful mini-ramble! It made me do a happy hibernophile wiggle. GRMA! ❤☘❤

Go to the dogs you say?👏👏😂😂

Ah, if only all my teachers were so sweet, I might’ve stopped staring out the window paid more attention in school 💖😍

Go raibh maith agat mo stór ❤

Emma

Dia duit . Now I know next time I go to Ireland when someone says 'I will ya' it's a resounding no. Love another Irish lesson, maybe with some Irish curses and swear words. Found some good ones, but not sure about pronunciation

Thank you for writing out the words and phrases G, now I can follow along and take notes 🤓 I love these lessons! ❤🍀

Maidin mhaith, mo stór! Thank you so much! Tá mo chroí istigh ionat is probably my most favorite phrase in Irish because the literal meaning is so deep and romantic.

It's been a minute since we had an Irish lesson. I love these. 💚💚 And yeah, if you said someone was massive in the US......you'd either get flipped off, told to fuck off or make someone cry for hurting their feelings. Not good!! 😲😛😂😂😉

I love these, my problem is I had a bad stutter as a kid (and the usual pronouncing L like W so sounded like porky pig and elmer fudd), and my speech therapist taught me to slow down and sound things out phonetically, but that doesn't quite work for languages like gaelic, but I still love hearing it

I was listening to a little bit more Gaelic this afternoon and I noticed Tá mo chroí istigh ionat in Sexy AsMR 😊 It’s sounds it a little bit different 😉 but yay ☘️ I love learning 💕 Thank you 🦉😘

Coola boola, Sucking diesel, and M A S S I V E 😎 are my FaVoRiTeS! I think coola boola takes the cake though, because I try to stay positive as much as I can, and keep moving forward regardless of what other people do or don't do... Coola Boola 💚 And on that note, let me get started sucking diesel. Slán 😊🍀

"I'm grand" in the south of U.S. would translate to "I'm peachy". Can be both good and bad lol

Ludmilita

Gael, is it true that all Gaelic teachers at school are grumpy old ladies?

Anonymous

Same here Kristen! 😂😂 If someone said that to me here, I would go into my "shell" and have an ugly cry.. 😰😰

Anonymous

The first phrase is so beautiful and one of my favorites to hear you say💓💚💓

Anonymous

I am in love with you as well! LoL 🍀🔥🔥🍀

Irish on my tongue? Baby, you know I love having you on my tongue. 😏 (...wait huh? 🤣)

Kaila Farrell

Im listening to this and cant help but draw parallels between the irish slang and what i hear here in California. Like we dont say "grand", but we say we're "fantastic" and it has the same sort of meaning to it. Coola boola is not a thing, but some people (those of us who know we aren't cool and are totally fine with it) say "cool beans"

I love your laugh!
