It’s not often that I listen to the YouTube version of an audio before the erotic version. But since I just got access to the full audio yesterday, it was interesting to compare it to the YT version and hear not only the differences, but the similarities as well. One thing that I originally noticed about the YT version is that the transitions between some scenes felt a bit abrupt. I was expecting that to some degree since YouTube (with their arbitrary ideas of what’s acceptable/unacceptable) sucks, and you have to remove the spicier bits out of necessity. But the erotic version of the audio also contained the same transitions, which to me interrupted the flow of the audio a little. An example of a transition that felt abrupt was the one between Gael deciding to peek in on the listener’s character’s workout session and the listener actually arriving at Gael’s car (around 2:50-2:56 in the Patreon download). You first hear the car door slam as Gael presumably goes into the studio...and then suddenly both characters are getting into the car. I’m not sure how feasible this would’ve been from an audio standpoint, but some kind of auditory cue (like muffled music coming from the workout studio that suddenly becomes more clear as Gael opens the door to the studio) could’ve helped make the transition from one scene to another a bit more seamless. Or to even extend that idea, it could’ve been fun to hear Gael’s inner monologue as he watches the listener work out. My guess is that the YT version of the audio was more of a teaser for the erotic one, rather than a standalone audio in its own right. The audience is able to get a small taste of the sexy stuff after Gael and the listener get home, quickly followed by the cliffhanger ending. I can totally understand that from a marketing standpoint, and I think it’s a strategy that works quite well given how many new Patrons say that they joined Patreon after finding you on YT. But even if this audio was meant to be an erotic one at its core, adding in a bit more material outside of the sex scene could be a nice touch for YT listeners who are either too young to join Patreon, or people who prefer audios on the Sugar end of the spectrum. Like if there was a scene where Gael is watching the listener work out, and he comments on her determination or bravery, or how well she’s doing and how proud he is of her. Or even spicier (but still YT-friendly) comments like how amazing her ass looks in her leggings, or something of the sort 😝 (On that note, what I really appreciated about this audio was how it touched on a subject that a lot of people are going through, which is attempting to return to some semblance of normalcy during the shitstorm that is 2020. I know that I found returning to the gym to be a nerve wracking experience - on top of worrying whether I’d catch COVID-19 from another gym-goer, I fretted about the gains I had lost, how long it would take to get back on track, and how out of shape I would look in comparison to everyone else. I thought that the emphasis on feeling good rather than worrying about numbers or comparing oneself to others was an important message, and expanding on that could make for good material if the YT version was ever refashioned as more of a standalone audio at some point.) Another transition that felt a little out of joint was at around 5:40, between when Gael and the listener drive away and when they find themselves in their living room. When I first heard that part on YT, I thought that there was a portion of the audio that had been spliced out to appease the YouTube overlords, resulting in the sudden change in background settings. I’d say this wasn’t quite as jarring as the transition I mentioned previously, but another auditory cue could have potentially made things a bit smoother. I imagine one wouldn’t want to overuse the car-door-slamming sound effect, but perhaps the sound of a front door closing to signifying the characters entering the house? Gael challenging the listener to a race to the house or giving her a 10-second head start if you want to continue the fitness theme? You do a great job with environmental sound effects, so I’m sure they could be used to help the audio segue from sweet and supportive to <i>"Let’s get it on!"</i> 😜 Insofar as the sex scene itself, there were parts of it that felt non-specific to me. And by non-specific I mean more like, <i>"Okay, could I take this portion of the audio, splice it into a completely different audio, and still have the entire thing make sense?"</i><br><br>Now, I don’t think non-specificity is necessarily a bad thing - in fact, it’s probably inevitable in any erotic audio since sex itself is kind of a repetitive act. And looking at the comments you’ve received so far, it doesn’t seem to have affected the sexiness of the audio. But I think it’s the more "specific" parts of the sex scene - the ones that tie into the overlying theme or background story - that can help audios really stand out from each other. There were certainly some lines during the sex scene that touched on the theme/story of the audio, of course. For example, the part about wanting the listener to show you her moves, or reassuring her that there was no reason for her to be jealous of other women. I think one of the hottest lines in the audio was the one about wanting to fuck the listener’s character in the shower at the studio, simply because it was so <i>different</i> than the usual elements of sex scenes (e.g., moaning, cum sounds). I can only speak to my own thoughts and preferences, but I found myself inserting even further dialogue along those lines (wanting to bang the listener on a gym mat, or taking her from behind as she balances on a Bosu ball or something) because my attention started to wander during the more non-specific parts of the sex scene. (Again, the non-specific bits aren’t bad, but I suppose it’s something one can get accustomed to over time. Or maybe I just have a really short attention span 😬) With that said, I imagine that recording the sex scenes is much different than recording the non-erotic parts of an audio. Adding in more theme- or story-based dialogue during sexytime could potentially help tie the different parts of an audio together into a really cohesive recording. However, I’m not sure if that would feel too scripted for you or otherwise interfere with the headspace you need to be in order to record and service the Celtic warrior at the same time. Ultimately you have to go with what works best for you in that respect 😯
