I didn’t really explain it well in the ramble but the real reason why the landlord got angry is because she had lost her tenant and the cottage is just unliveable in during the winter months. She wasnt worried about anything other than fast money. But again, it’s a common theme here in Ireland.

When I was younger I used to spend some time in houses without proper facilities, except “borrowed” electricity… so I can imagine how you felt a bit. It’s not something I wish for you. I’m not really fully up on the whole situation in Ireland, but I hear Blindboy often talk about the housing crisis, so I guess some people exploit that for their own gain. 😔 Your guitar play is so goood 👏🏼Moondance is lovely but I admit I’ve listened more to the cover than the original. Speaking of your landlord, you know what they say, don't you- karma really is a bitch, so sooner or later she'll get what she deserves. And how you can ask us not to worry about you? By now you should know that's impossible. If we wouldn't worry, it means we wouldn't care; if we wouldn't care, we wouldn't all be here, would we. Also, just wanted to say, the story with your mammy really made me laugh. Yes, maybe she swore the whole surgery, but at least she got her shot. My gran flatly refused. Yes, granny. It sounds like Air B&B is causing a huge headache for local people over there who trying to find places to rent, and that really sucks. I’m sorry. It’s a problem here in the US too in cities that attract a lot of tourists. Oh my word, Im appalled anyone would scream at you like that, especially knowing your family’s situation. Cue the sound of 4K lovelies unsheathing their swords **shrrring ⚔️** and riding into battle 🐎 🛡🗡. Jokes aside, your amazing attitude and heart will attract the perfect place, I just know it. Wow I can’t believe that landlord, how unprofessional and downright heartless 😤 it’s a wild experience to be a victim of that kind of narcissistic rage. Oh my sweet lion, I am still so sorry you had to go through all of that rough stuff, and you handled it all with such grace. As with all obstacles, you came out of it with lessons learned, stories to tell, and the motivation to overcome it and be better in the end. And don't you dare blame yourself, that lady would have screwed you in one way or another, whether you had pictures as proof or not. I'm just glad you got out of there, although you could be right that it was the universe's way of telling you it's time to find a place of your own to call home. As ever, know that we will always be here for whatever support you need, just as you are always on our side. Your transitions are getting so much better and let me tell you I squealed with delight hearing you play All I Want Is You all the way through! That was the problem. It wasn’t an agency rather going straight to the landlord so she essentially drew up the lease. So I was at her mercy.

I’m so glad to hear that you’re doing well and in a good head space G. You weathered a storm and learned some lessons along the way. That story of the cottage landlord was kinda terrifying. I’ve watched/listened to enough true crime that I don’t know what I would have done in that situation 😅 but I’m happy to hear that you got out of there safely and that crap is now behind you. Mama G sounds so awesome! Older folks have zero filter and I kinda love that. Tell it like it is mama! I can feel your confidence in your chord changes now and everything sounds a lot cleaner. ::Boop:: 👉🏻👃🏻 ughhh I had a rental situation similar to that. I leased this place in a hurry bc it was in a highrise I used to live in and when I went in to look and sign, they had candles going and everything seemed fine and nice and when I went to move in, I was hit with the strongest stench of dog pee! 😩😩 the parcel of pricks (thanks gael’s mom) hid the odor by lighting all the damn candles. There was a thick coating of pee on the carpet. Like eye wateringly bad. Ugh long story short, the agency let me break lease, but I lost first months rent and my security deposit. Still miffs me when I think about it. But the next place I got after that ended up being better. Sometimes the universe has a plan. And I NEVER hastily sign leases anymore...except for the last 2 cars I had that I got screwed on. But definitely not after that! 🤣😭 Your guitar playing and picking are sounding good! I brought out my guitar and ukulele a few days ago. I can never seem to keep my calluses long enough to consistently practice. My fingertips get so sore. Maybe I should just stick to the piano. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good juju and energy to you, Gael. ✨✨

This landlord sounded like she was a whole parcel of pricks all by herself! It’s shite that you had to go through that mountain of malarkey with both landlords and all the lies and deception. Sometimes you do just have to say “ It is, what it is “, learn the lessons from it, chuck it in the fuck- it bucket and move on. If you dwell on it overmuch, you spend too much time looking backwards and you will trip trying to go forward. Happy to hear things are starting to level out a little. Sometimes those few moments of grace that find you, enable you to catch your breath long enough to find a headwind that helps you sail on. ;-) wonder where I heard that sage piece of advice? :)) I always love to hear your laugh and I can tell when you are seeing the scenario all over again in your head because we can hear it in your smile. When you tell a story, I almost feel like I was there too. Thanks for all you do for us and soldiering on with such a great attitude. Much luck to you. <3

My God, imagine yelling at someone like that when she knew damn well for herself, and heard from people over and over again, that the place was inhospitable. Add onto that knowing the rough time you were going through personally. Taking advantage. Heartless. The way you kept your cool in the face of her meltdown brings to mind someone with your same name, (sort of, ha!) Gayle King, and when she famously interviewed R. Kelly and he just lost his shit and stood up and started yelling and swinging his arms, and the whole time she remained seated and still, calmly repeating, "Robert... Robert...". Of course the memes flowed out of that, because people naturally found the humor in it, but I remember hearing her say later that she was trying to calm him without directly engaging him lest he become more agitated, because she was worried he was going to accidentally hit her. It didn't show one bit. Anyway, reminded me of you here, Mr. Nerves of Steel. I want to give you a hug for having gone through that.🤗❤ I'm glad you're out of that icy cottage. I just know you're going to take your time and find a beautiful, comfortable home that suits your needs perfectly.❤ I want you happy.❤ Please, play and sing for me anytime, I love it so much.🎶🥰😍❤ & I'm happy to hear that the Force family is protected from the virus! I’ve been reading about the housing issues in Ireland lately. It’s like the cards are stacked against people trying to just buy a permanent place to live. Everything seems geared towards AirBnB’s for tourists. I hope things ease up and you find that forever home! You sound like me learning ukulele. I’ll make a sound when I mess up but I’ll keep going and then do it again. Repetition builds that muscle memory and you just get better and better! I haven’t touched it in ages so you’ve inspired me to pick it up again. Life has been throwing curveballs and I’ve forgotten the joy playing an instrument brings. So thank you for that! It's good to hear a bit of your life but it's definitely better knowing that you got out of a bad situation. I was a bit worried about that but yeah, good to hear. Haha your mom sounds like a riot! There's a lot to unpack here! Firstly, whilst we're on a package related note, "parcel of pricks" is absolute comedy gold!! Thanks and praise go to Mammy G for that awesome line! I shall now be repurposing that phrase throughout my daily life 😆👏 It's hard to hear that anyone with such a kind, creative and luminous soul has had to endure those difficulties. However, it's reassuring to know that you're now in a brighter place and that better days are now within reach. I think we can all relate to having experienced our own personal versions of dark times in the past year but your optimism and strength during these challenges has helped so many across the world.🤗💪 Your rambles and guitar playing are so great for giving that feeling of being with a friend, expanding perspectives on life and having a giggle. These are the gems of life that I've sorely missed since lockdown life became the norm. Super happy that you're happier & in a better frame of mind so to speak. Being from hot & humid Texas I pray for cold....... (well lets face it a degree less than hell LOL) weather! When we went a week w/o heat /lights in Feb during our "Winter freeze" it was mind blowing how quickly I wanted to be warm. I have no clue what it's like to live in a place where seasons actually take place. I just know what holidays link up to winter /cooler months LOL . I am very much aware that Hurricane season is drawing near. Usually when we get a "cold" winter our hurricane season tends also to be bad, Just depends if it hits Florida, Louisiana, or us in Houston/Galveston area..... I do gotta admit that the bedtime stories happen to be a personal fav of mine!!!!! Bonus for me because it takes me forever to fall asleep, I have an even harder time when it just my mind going so I usually have light noise in the background just to fall asleep. So as many bedtime stories you wanna do I am behind that 100%........I am glad your parents got their vaccines, Covid is a bitch & is unforgiving to the human soul!!!! I had Covid back in Nov I was admitted into ICU 1 day before my birthday & I was there almost a month. Being a nurse I had a cheat code in a way, knowing which questions to answer correctly I probably got out way before I should have til this day I still have issues with taste & smells. I wouldn't wish it on the devil him/herself....... To lift my spirts & to end on a positive note I love your giggles & how you laugh after your own jokes it's adorable. It's official that you have the cutest giggle ever!!!! I wish you continued success G, I have also been enjoying the vlogs as well! It’s nice to hear your rambles because underneath it all we have lives and they get crazy and they get hard. Really hard. Last year was the hardest year of my life. I know that there will be hard times again but it helps us to cherish the little happy moments even more. We really do come out different on the other side of our hard ships but hopefully for most of us we learn things and take things away from them. Each mountain is an experience is all. Some good and some bad. More experience equals finding the real you and what makes you happy in life. And.....you’re absolutely correct about accepting and moving on. Accept it and move on. Acknowledge and move on other wise it will hold you prisoner forever. You’re strong and will come out stronger in the end. You’ve already learned that you want to take your time and not rush in and house hunting is like car shopping, it’s emotional and a commitment. Lastly, we burn wood here and if you don’t have proper insulation and such it’s like sitting around a camp fire when it’s -20 degrees. Does you no good. Good luck! 👍 You got this! I got really frustrated on your behalf here lol. Additionally I've been through similar things with rentals. I'm so glad it's over and you're moving on. Poor living conditions can really mess with your peace of mind, especially when you're kind of stuck in the situation. Good luck finding a peaceful, warm house to call yours!!

Just got to see it, but a ramble posted on my birthday definitely made it even more bright. And hearing that things are looking up and you are finally out of that situation; it's a big relief. And the fact that that... person knew the conditions of the cottage and knowingly rented it sickens me. I'm glad it's in your past and for your soothing optimism. The playing is going beautifully! It's been raining the last couple of days here. I'm here at the office and needed company while I'm plodding away at work. I was looking for a ramble I haven't listened to and here it is.
