Today has been one of those really weird days. I was going to save this for later and I happened to get a message from Chelli that you sang one of my favorites and I knew this was the perfect remedy for this day. Thank you for this gem. Oh My Goodness I Love This So Much ❤️ This one feels so very real and textured and palpable; like if I closed my eyes and reached out you’d actually be there ❤️ Today was my first day of training at my new school, first day of getting up early enough for my new commute, which is almost an hour longer than my old one. I’m very excited and happy and also overwhelmed and tired and I listened to this sitting in my driveway when I got home and I was so soothed. I was not expecting you to sing!!! Someone had a rough first day back for classes *cough cough* LOL (last 3 months of nursing school though yay) and this truly was the remedy for my sadness. Life has really been testing me and my family the past few years after the sudden loss of my brother who was my best friend, adored by everyone, & a major source of strength in our family. I’ve been staying strong trying to keep the family together and fill the void we all feel now especially for his kids but lately I am just worn out! Your words and your voice are so perfectly serene & soothing. Your singing is comforting and the beauty of the song because he will soon be reunited with his love again in the afterlife, also comforting to me.😘

I don't think an audio has directly inspired me to write a companion/complementary piece before. This one has, for all it's tenderness and love. Here it is. I'll share it on the community page with the accompanying art work. You spoke to my poet's heart, seduced it with a lullaby. Melody so arresting the nightingales stopped to listen. I love this audio, this is exactly the sort of thing I look for when I’m feeling stressed, sad, scared, generally overwhelmed by life and need to break out of my own head and fall into something/somewhere else. A different story than the one I’m living. But then… this song. Lol, it’s a beautiful song, the Loreena McKennitt version periodically pops into my head because it’s just that lovely and haunting… but I’m maybe an odd one out in having always considered this a deeply creepy, vaguely ominous song? 😂 (I mean, it does end with a visiting ghost promising “it won’t be long until our wedding day” with the pretty clear implication that that’s ‘cause his death is imminent, which… uhm… yeah, lol.) Don’t get me wrong though, that honestly only makes me like this audio better, the man who’d try to soothe me to sleep by singing a spooky ghost story would definitely be the man of my dreams and it’s something I’ve only now discovered I want… It’s a rare audio that legitimately teaches me something new about myself. 😁

Jen, Your post really resonated with me. I agree with what you wrote about being able to step out of your life and be somewhere else even if only for 20 minutes and have that escape because life does get overwhelming (I mean let's add a pandemic and now new Covid variants to the already difficult things we all have to deal with at times, Really Universe?) It's an escape that no one else gets to share in and when you are there no when else can reach you, it's something I get to selfishly have all to myself in my little corner of the world. I also agree with you that the song is a bit haunting & dark. I first heard it on one of Sinead O'Connor's albums where she sang about a male love but when I heard Loreena Mckennitt's live concert version I thought it was hauntingly beautiful in the sense that he now finally gets to be with his true love in the after life.

Hi, Maria : ) Gael sprinkles Irish-Gaelic into a lot of his audios. He's very good about giving the translation right after. So in this audio it's "agus tá do chroí istigh i mo chroí" = and your heart is in my heart. He often uses "leannán" (love) as an endearment. Some of the audios are tagged with "Gaelic" if you want to do a search.
