Hey, look!  Something on time on a weekend!  It can be done after all!

I'll be working on a quest update for Monday and then we'll have another round of voting for November, but I'm really happy I got this done.  With a bit of extra length, even!

In case I don't manage to get something out like I plan to, I wish everyone a very Happy Halloween!  Be sure to celebrate safely and responsibly.  Or at least use protection.

Everyone rock on and thank you for another great month of support.  It really does mean a lot to me.

Industrious: Engineering Marvels

Chapter 1: I spiraled through the endless abyss between worlds. Time and space ceased to have any meaning. My conscious mind was splintered. Random images from my life on Earth and the Elemental Nations flashed before me. The orphanage matrons, my parents, childhood friends, lonely days rea...

Thanks for the chapter, I love how the spin-off is picking up. Something I can't help but notice about the "because the sun always sets, eventually. If you know what I mean" part: Ironically enough most 'suns' fall for their own hubris and corruption, that once becomes systematic rot the system from the inside. The Roman Empire, the British empire, the American 'Empire', Russia and even China have experienced or are experiencing it. They do not want the 'sun to set'? then they should clean their own shit. Had Bush not fucked up invading Iraq or after that had Russia bettered itself instead of closing itself in its own hubris Europe would have leaned much more on one side of the other

I mean the Museum also has a Vibranium Axe so that will be useful, though I wonder what conversation he has had with Logan or Victor an if it will help the Brothers stay Brothers. If he picks up magic stuff will the Ancient One show up to talk (and I mean Yao not the MCU version) if he meets with the British will he encounter the current Captain Britian an have to deal with the Corp an possibly Merlin an his organization that keeps things on track

With the right advice he can change the course of history. I recently watched a vid about a Chinese immigrant rocket(?) scientist that was deported back to China after the Cold War and he as actually loyal to the USA but when he was sent back he ended up teaching China what he knew and played a big role in china’s military development. Help NASA not waste too much money in the space race that it basically slows advancement afterwords to a stop for decades. Bring awareness to a lot of things that are unknown then but common for us like don’t use asbestos, lead paint, or that radioactive material used to make watches glow that fucked up the health of the workers. Hell just our understanding of nutrition would be a great boon if introduced decades earlier. Or being able to stop UN resolution 181, and propose another option. Might not even be needed depending on how fast they end WW2. And this is without going into the stuff from marvel.

There's a lot of advice he can give on the space race in particular and he's definitely going to name-drop asbestos, radium, lead paint, cigarettes causing cancer, and other things. Like leaded gasoline. Given the momentum behind UN 181, which goes back to just after WWI, and the fact that settlement in the area by people displaced by the Nazis is already in progress... probably can't change that.

I mean keep in mind that mutants are a thing, and so are magic users. I highly doubt any setting with supernatural powers that is similar to earth would have the conflict stay the way it is in our world. It would most likely end in the genocide of one of the 2 sides, or for it to escalate way beyond the region even more than it did in our world, or it might end up with a sort of stalemate with both sides having equal amounts of power in terms of supernatural till one eventually gains a significant upper hand and one of the first 2 options happens. And this is discounting any potential magic societies in the area as the Middle East has a very long history and traditions so likely have something going on (though that’s up in the air. Like imagine what would happen in Worm, it’s like a hotspot of potential trigger events. Which given how small the region actually is would mean most Thinker powers are in a constant state of Blindness due to triggers being Blind Spots.

Putting this another way, having the story focus to any real degree on the situation in Israel/Palestine would threaten to consume the entire narrative and I'd really rather it not. While there's plenty of fuel for such a plotline, it's also incredibly divisive and grounds for involving the current politics of the region. Since this story will mainly be posted to QQ, there's a real chance of crossing Rule 8 there. So that specific conflict will not get huge focus.

Completely understandable, best to focus on this that only affect USA, at most I would see him saying no there are no weapons on mass destruction in Iraq. But then that might not be accurate due to timeline shift plus other world. So historical info will lose its value fast, but other things will not.
