Where am I meant to begin? All I have been doing while watching this movie is bawling my eyes out. It was heavy like proper heavy! Since the first glimpse of the life Michelle was living as a child, it just went floodgates. Shout to the child artist because she truly made me feel extremely protective of her. The minute she recognised water and then just ran to everything possibly around her to learn about was just too damn beautiful. Amitabh Bachchan was the magician in Michelle's life and he was stubborn about making sure he could make the impossible be possible. The way they kept highlighting that the teacher never taught the word 'impossible' to Michelle was so brilliant because she can't limit herself if she never is taught to. His ways of teaching were intense because one kept feeling bad for the child, but he had to do it because he wanted to believe that she isn't handicapped. He treated her as a normal human being as best as possible despite her being a human with a disability. The way he didn't give up on the dream of seeing her become a successful independent person was incredible. He dedicated 18 years of his life to his student with such integrity that there was no way he could have failed the faith. To see him forgetting things in bits and pieces was heart-breaking. The moment he is tied up with chains and Michelle goes berserk about it was such good detailing. It gave me chills because he did it for her at the beginning. He stopped her parents from disrespecting her and that was passed on. What a masterclass performance! Rani, oh my goodness! She was absolutely incredible. I can't even describe how I kept feeling a whole rollercoaster of emotions. But she killed it with her expressions, body language and just embodying it all. I felt all of the emotions that were meant to be conveyed to the audience. Congratulations to Michelle for making her teacher's and her dream true. A blind and deaf student graduated from a regular college. It doesn't matter if it took her 40 years; what matters is that she did it without losing hope. I felt extremely proud, and it hits harder maybe because I also work with young adults with disabilities.

The best part about these movie reactions is that I end up finally watching the movies that I haven't seen before knowingly. I might not watch this again because it is way too heavy even though extremely well deserving of high number of viewership but I'm more than glad I have seen it. It can't be missed. Shout out to the casting, crew and director. Sanjay Leela Bhansali knocked it out of the park! The way it all was set up, the sound effects and how it all eventually was executed onscreen is perfection at the least. I see why the film is praised a lot. It deserves it! If someone hasn't watched this one, I would suggest do give it a chance but definitely keep the tissue box close by throughout.
