Pi is such a sweet character. I think he gets ahead of himself a bit in fearing rejection. Earlier in the series he saw himself as somewhat of an ugly duckling. So even though you can change your exterior self it may take more time to change your perception of self. Mork is quite fixated on Pi -- in a good way, but even good intentions can be misunderstood.

I said this on the video itself, but I thought that Pi was being childish at first for breaking down like that, but the reason is because he never gets the things he wants in life, no matter how he tries. And when his Mom says she doesn't like the changes that he made to himself, right after he found out that the person he changed himself for doesn't like him, it just cemented that things never work out the way he wants them to, and he is really tired of it.

She also said he wasn't as nice as he used to be. To him, it felt like an attack on his choices and shows just how low his self esteem is right now. 😢
