I agree that season 2 is slow but I think that also reflects real life which is nice. This is one of those series where there isn't anything really controversial or toxic, it just shows the progress of a relationship and how it can change as life moves on. It's sweet love and such a realistic storyline it makes is easy to relate to the characters.
