Hehe, the temple finale suffers terribly in adaptation. In a book, events happen at the speed of plot, so all that standing and sitting around while jin guangyao talks works, and you don’t worry about the temporarily depowered individuals being unable to help because you can’t see them. None of that is true on film. Still, they make the emotional gutpunches of the climax land as they should. I just wish they had changed the events surrounding it rather than doing a direct adaptation of a scene that just…doesn’t work on tv.

Agree the book scene was wonderful. So many emotions and deep character explorations. But Jeevan's frustration here made this entertaining at least! 😁
