Sorry to hear that your coming out didn't go so well. Heartstopper is based on a graphical novel and there are 4 books so far and according to the website of the author all 4 of them should come to Netflix.

Charlie’s only 15. That’s why he had the 15 badge on his shirt at his birthday. So he was 14, already had low self esteem and zero experience with relationships when Ben put him through all of that trauma. Poor kid was so messed up. I would be shocked if it didn’t get a second season. It’s performed incredibly well and is a low budget production.

If you want something else western, I recommend 'Young Royals' which is also on Netflix.

Agreed. Heartstopper is the first BL, in the West. It has the structure of a BL, just a little less sexual then most Asian BL's.

The first western BL ever was Queer As Folk (2000). A very forward and sometime shocking (for that time) gay series. The first one was a British series. Later there was also a American series of Queer As Folk wich played in two seasons. Both were great gay series (the first ones I ever saw) with a lot of great music. So I can stongly recommend this shows to you if you like western BL/gay series.

Thanks for sharing your "coming-out between the lines". I know it's much more difficult to come out in asian countries than here in western countries. So I understand it was hard for you to come out. It was very brave to take that step. I hope you and your parents, and especially your mom, will get on good terms on this in the future. And don't worry, you'll get your man eventually, probably even sooner than you think, simply because you're a good guy.

Nick, Charlie and Heartstopper will always have a special place in my heart. The series and the books are so sweet and emotional. Alice really did a great job. My fav gay/BL series ever.
