I think the main characters where written to be over reserved and the second couple to be the opposite. Not sure if it is the acting or direction of acting of the main couple, it get's better in later episodes. I think it was just a bit over reserved in these early episodes. I can relate to the main leads so I bought in to them from the beginning. You are much less reserved (understatement, that's why we subscribe) so I see why you bought into the second couple first.

For me I liked also the second couple PhuKao the most. The main reason why I watched this series back then. For me the main couple was quite boring, especially in the beginning. But my favorite couple still remained the second couple the whole series through. The show will get better later on in the series due to 'family-issues'. There will be even, later on in the series, some sort of a third bl-couple, but although they're playing only a small part in the show, I liked them even more than the main couple.
