Noey already started falling for Thi that's why when he got rejected by Pam, he didn't feel too upset and was more upset that the flowers got messed up because he & Thi worked on it together. When O took Pam away he didn't even look at them, just kept staring at the flowers, so for him, it was kind of like a moving-on experience. In the book too, Noey is very mercurial so very hard to understand him. He does what he feels and wastes no time in doing it, so he had a sudden realisation that he likes Thi and acted upon it. Noey is not a logical and patient character but he is sincere in what he does nonetheless.
