Wow, Uea has good luck only in getting King's interest. A family like that (and unless I'm mistaken, that 'uncle' is his stepfather?) and an ex to match? Poor beebee. The episode was a bit of a mess, but the story is there; I wish the editing made it a better watch. Happy with the NC scenes, sorta. I liked that we didn't get the same laying around scenes we usually do, and that King was genuinely asking good questions. Kinda bothered that he's going to have to clean up everyone else's mess in Uea's life, though. It's still a lot, and I felt terrible for him that he's apologizing for triggering intimacy issues without knowing where the edges are (and not that Uea needed to tell him everything at this point, just that I felt bad for him). Interested to see how they wrap up all these plotlines in only 5 more episodes.

The intimacy in the sex scene towards the end is my favourite scene in any series I've watched for a while, although the sex scene in The End of the World with You is close. The text was from the mother, not King (about wanting to see him). I thought like you did but it made more sense as King was out drinking and his mother had been pestering him all day. When Uea asked if he was with Gun, I think he meant if he can overhear the conversation but I might be wrong. I think this is turning out to be a really good series.
