He says Hira is arrogant because he won't change but I think Kiyoi means stubborn but is frustrated. I know you don't like Kiyoi but he's waiting for him to move from idolising him, so Kiyoi can approach him. The kiss scene was Hira losing patience. He was wrong to push him over, and it was because he made himself vulnerable and feared rejection.
