A NOTE ON DUB V SUB:

It seems the dub is the much more popular choice for this show. I've already filmed up through episode 3 using the subbed version but started the dub as of episode 4. There's no perfect way to do it given that I started with subs but hopefully this ultimately creates a best-of-both-worlds situation.

In Cyberpunk: Edgerunners episode 2, Like a Boy, David gets horribly betrayed by the girl he has a crush on and learns absolutely nothing. But boy was the moon fun.

I've seen both the sub and dub for Steins:Gate and I honestly like both equally (some characters are better and worse in each imo)

Regarding his school route... I think the guy at the top of the (blocked) staircase, armed with a club, might be a "staircase toll collector". So it's either 1) Pay to use, 2) Get beaten up or 3) Find another way to get down.

xD My headcanon: Toll collector guy can't be there 24/7. He's there during morning hours, when people have to rush to go to school / work. Like, let's say, 7am-10am. But the return trip is not as uniform for everyone. People could return any time between 3pm - 11pm. So it's double+ the hours, for the same amount of money (lol). Plus, if he gets TOO greedy, a mob could easily take him down. Staircase toll collector guy is shaping to be best background character. Probably academy dropout too. Good business sense. Works smarter, not harder. Has a good grip on his target demographic. Doesn't go full corpo greed. I stan.

I always feel bad when the sub/dub shitshow starts (even if I do have a preference). 90% of the comments were talking about it, although the YT algorithm may like it a bit more so thats nice.

You might've realized it, but the moon is already colonized. David talks about how he learned in that school that "a lot of people died making that rock into something" or whatever he said. And also, there's a rocket that takes people there that you keep seeing in the background lol
