The joke is a homonym; "You're bard" (You are a bard) vs "You're barred" (You are banned) I'm pretty sure "the one with the witches" is Macbeth, but my own familiarity with Shakespeare is mostly via Terry Pratchett's Discworld. The Doctor IS being very rude to Martha here, and I understand that he misses Rose, but I think part of his issue is that he never really admitted to himself how much he cared for her, so he's hurting more than he realizes. I've always said it "Dah-Leck"

So David Tennant ended up doing a modern version of Hamlet, where he speaks those famous words "To be or not to be". It might be one of the BEST recitations of that monologue. He's so sincere, so deep and filled with depression ... it's amazing. You should check that clip out. :)

Yes it was Joseph Fiennes who played Shakespeare in Shakespeare in Love. And of course his brother Ralph played Voldanort (sorry, forgive me, I'm just trying to rub salt in) in Harry Potter.
