What is it to share paradise? Cai's kind are nameless, ancient beings that drifted across the Martian landscape. They are shaped by the yearnings and needs of humans and, in turn, reshape the reality around them. Cai had found his purpose in a human named Jake and the two had lived together in that paradise. When another of his kind shows up, however, Cai must decide if there is enough room in Jake's heart for another son...

I wanted to strike while the Martian iron was hot and write the sequel while there was enough inspiration to fill the canals! I hope everyone else is as happy with where this led as I was.
