Fallout New Vegas; that's the one. Fallout 3 or 4 will probably be the most "world-friendly" to the show.

My advice is to start with Fallout 4 for a more modern experience for your first taste. Have to jump through hoops and mods to get NV and F3 working these days and they feel a little more clunky, tech. wise given their age. From a RPG perspective, NV is the one.

I've never played the last Fallout, the I think 76 it is? They say it did a turn for the better after the desastrous release though. Last Fallout I've played was 4 and anything before that of course as well. Big fan of the series since the start and also somewhat happy with how Fallout 4 turned out. I would agree with others and say 4 is probably the best to get an easy entry into the world which probably will be the closest to what you see in the show. But it is not a new game, expect some dated graphics. Still good enough to play, which of course the older ones make it a bit harder to stomach. I'm a PC player - though a nice set of mods could elevate the experience. There are easy to apply mod packs out there but maybe someone can help you out with that. What I enjoyed the most in Fallout 4 was exploring the world - you find the craziest things in the wasteland. This world is crazy and I don't just mean after the Fallout - definitely not something to take too serious.

I started with Fallout 3, then Fallout New Vegas, then Fallout 4. I also have Fallout & Fallout 2 in my Steam library but I haven't got to them yet. Fallout New Vegas is by far the best game story and gameplay wise, but any of them are good. I didn't play Fallout 76 because of the bad reviews, and also multiplayer didn't appeal to me because I'm not a joiner. To summarize, I recommend you start with vanilla Fallout New Vegas. It will run fine on your new PC.
