Thanks Allure for your thoughts on these tricky topics - here’s my take on the IATAs: #1 - Agree with you, but from the male perspective, my advice to her is: RUN, NOW! Publicly sharing a list of pros and cons like that is horribly immature and disloyal of him. Jeez, if I was in his place, I would be awed by her positives and not look for the downsides. As an aside, I love how you described yourself in passing. Oh yes 🥰 #2 - Sounds like a bunch of 14 year olds, so no comment. #3 - She was clearly fishing for a particular answer, and was annoyed he wasn’t a mind reader. I imagine the crux of this is she’s insecure about her looks. Lack of confidence is a passion killer - we all need to be good actors if we have hang-ups about ourselves. #4 - Agree with you about not telling a mother how to deal with her kids, it’s a no-win situation intruding in another family’s goings-on. #5 - The problem is that photo of the pros & cons was never deleted when they got closer and married. Mountain out of a molehill now, considering he made that list way before they coupled up. Sad outcome. (Since you asked, I’ve never tried to get with someone I wasn’t attracted to, don’t know how that would work…) #6 - Classic whistleblower dilemma. I wouldn’t want to work in that kind of company, so I’d put everything into finding another job and leave, then blow the whistle. The top bosses probably know and condone the shady things happening. By the way, it’s apparently a grey area in legal terms to record someone secretly in the way you suggested. #7 - She’s beating a dead horse, blindly thinking she can change his mind. Embarrassingly clingy. #8 - What a mess. I think the father needs to butt out, even if he’s disgusted. He has the right not to participate in the wedding, but It’s up to the daughter to square things with the fiancé, and marry or not. The father telling the fiancé would doubtless destroy his relationship with his daughter. Lose-lose, as you say. Oops, that was a lot of feedback 🙃 Thanks for another belter of a podcast 🌹
