I want to apologize for the flood of cross-promotions this month
I know it must have been a bit tiresome, and I hope you'll forgive me. There are two reasons behind this, so let me explain.
The first reason is a practical one:
Since the game’s release, I’ve been dealing with a wave of technical issues and the rushed development of Nancy’s route. As you might remember, this route was delayed significantly due to our coder’s illness, the search for a replacement, and then the time it took for the new programmer to learn the existing code. Meanwhile, I was also preparing a Halloween-themed plot (yes, it’s available now), but when I finally found a suitable programmer, I realized we physically wouldn’t have time to develop a themed quest and Nancy’s route still needed work since the last coder didn't quite finish it.
Or so I thought—turns out, the new coder had to create it from scratch. While my coder was working on that, I started developing a new plot—the Beach Series—which I had enthusiastically announced earlier. I decided to outsource parts of the story, but the results were far from what I expected, leaving me to rewrite almost everything from scratch. I worked on it for some time until I realized that even if I managed to finish it, you wouldn’t see this story until next year.
After the massive delay with Nancy’s route, I couldn’t bear the thought of leaving you without updates for another couple of months—it would feel like a betrayal of your patience. I was starting to feel disappointed in myself. That’s why I decided to put together a quicker update: “Susan’s End,” which I had originally planned for release in the new year. And, to make sure you wouldn’t miss out on a holiday-themed event, I also created a “Christmas Finale.”
And, of course, I had to draw everything myself. Needless to say, it’s been a lot of work! While juggling all of this, I realized I had completely forgotten about marketing—oops! But now, it’s time to address that.
The second reason for all the cross-promos is purely practical:
Cross-promotion is one of the most effective methods of advertising in our genre. Many developers in this niche are friends, myself included. We recommend each other's work with good intentions—there’s no payment involved. Instead, it’s an exchange of audiences who understand the value of what we do. They know the challenges of indie development, the relentless crunching, and the stress that comes with it. I always try to promote projects that I genuinely believe are worth your attention.
That said, I understand that the frequency of these promotions might feel overwhelming at times, and for that, I sincerely apologize.
