Leorio's on his turf for this battle. I really thought they were going to have him get pummeled in a battle, but I'm glad they didn't, this is much better. Granted, it was a bit slow and there was no reason for him to accept her new bet, but still. In other news, this show is using decapitation to appease us for Hisoka's recent absence. hxh literally only gets better each arc is as good or better than the last and its a pure master piece. things tie together and make sense and even the lowest parts of hxh are still good.

I love hxh a lot, and think overall it's very well written, but it definitely has flaws, like all shows do. I think this episode is good in showing some of what Leorio can do in terms of strategic thinking, but overall it's... meh. Again, love whenever you start talking about your interpretation of the characters. The characters are my fave thing about this show, and any analysis you do on them is always just great to hear.

I think the reason Leorio accepted the bet was more because he didn't want to murder the criminal, and that change to the bet made it possible for the guy to give up without winding up dead. Leorio may act like he is a badass, but, I think he is a big softy inside.

in terms of Gon, i think his problem is that rationality almost does not exist at all in him, grew up as almost the only child that's on whale island, spends most of his time with family fishermen and nature. there's almost no right or wrong in him, just how he feels, after all he's not exactly educated or has any real social experience. just a wild child you know.

I know its hard when episodes like this fail to deliver on what they could be. But please, suffer through this garden salad blandness to reach the meaty tbone steak on the other side. Yes. So much steak ahead. Bwahahahahahaha.

I think he doesn't have the choice of refusing a bet. He chose what they bet on. The other person is the one that decides what their bet is. That's how it works. Arguing about it would have been not only childish but also wasted time. Which isn't to say the rest isn't true, but he knew Majitini was awake or else he wouldn't have made that bet in the first place.

Also, it was episode 13 that's a recap episode. 13 and 26. Those are the only two recap episodes in the whole series, thankfully.
