Isaac

Oh my god yes. This'll be good.

Waluigi

You know today's gonna be a good day when you get that email notification for MHA

Phyllis

On my way to work but I love your reactions so much that I had to use my data to see your reaction to Deku & Todoroki showing up. Today is a good day. Can't wait to watch your discussion when I home! :)

> Caleb is wearing a Future War Cult shirt Good to see he is a man of taste.

You guys have a great dynamic, it's the sort of thing I hope for when I get together with friends to enjoy genuinely engaging creative work like MHA. This is such a great portion of the show and I so enjoy you guys enthusiasm about diving into the storytelling and pulling out all the bits and pieces to appreciate. This show has found the key to hitting my emotional buttons, and it's cool to see others who seem to feel that impact with a similar intensity. Go beyond! Pluuuuuuusss Uuuuuullttraaaaaa!

Kenju Storm

Ugh I really wanna see you guys react to the next episode. But yeah the writer of this is really good. He's had two mangas previously in Shounen Jump but they got cancelled and left him in depression. He then decided he would fight against that by just writing a story full of happy, good things and the things that he liked. That's how came up with MHA

Mavengoose Unlimited

IMO, Hero killer ideology Mandates "unrelenting justice", do or die commitment in being a hero and also is against "hordes of people calling themselves a hero" without standards. Ingenium, promotes hordes of people to take up the name hero without the irrational conviction and committed mandated by hero killer. Hence the classification of "false hero". This is just my interpretation. SOS Bros take on his motivation for being a hero stemming from family honor and not personal conviction also makes great sense. Great analysis.

VinterSvart

You are writing a book Jacob!? that is awesome!!!

ToTally

yeeeeeEEEEESSSS

Craig Starbird

I think the only problem with this interpretation is that Stain still considers All Might a true hero when All Might undoubtedly inspired many less than perfect heroes to take up the mantle

Did you guys notice that when the Hero Killer had an opening to land a final blow on Todoroki, he focused his attention on the Native hero instead (much like when he went after Iida when Deku was downed)? This is important to note moving forward with this fight and its conclusion.

Peasant

Such an interesting villian, always loved how he had ideals even though he is a murderer.

Irenesharda

I don't think that's what Todoroki meant about the line in regards to Iida calling himself Ingenium. He was saying that Iida didn't have the "look" of Ingenium, not the essence of the hero his brother was. As to what Stain would think of All Might? I thin even if he knew his body changed because of his wound, All Might is still the very essence of a hero as a person. So no, I don't think he would think of All Might as a fake even then.

Irenesharda

As for what Caleb said about Iida, while I definitely understand how Iida was feeling, and how emotional he was being, as continue to think about it though, you begin to realize how selfish he was also being. He WOULD have died if Deku hadn't come in. Where would that have left his family who had just had a huge hit with Ingenium's fall. Where would that have left his brother, who is clinging on to life and placed a huge burden on his brother. Also, there is Manual, who would have had an apprentice dying on his watch. UA's reputation would take a hit, his friends would all blame themselves. All the repercussions from Iida's choices would be pretty wide spread.

Hyperion

Almost, he wrote MHA based on the knowledge he gained from his failures not the other way around.

Riru (〃^▽^〃)

I remember like 6 episodes ago when you two predicted Todoroki and Iida sharing a connection over their family upbringing. And guess what? It actually happened. That's what I really love about your videos. It seems like all this analysis and speculation may just be throwing words into the wind at first, but the utter effort and care you put into understanding these characters is what gives it so much substance. It's quite a far cry from most reactors who simply guess things like "Todoroki will die because he has white hair" or "Bakugou will be a villain because MHA is a Naruto copy" without even thinking any deeper into it. And oh, trust me, guys. Nothing Horikoshi does in the MHA manga is really unplanned. It's kind of interesting going back to episode 1 and seeing the genius that was set up from the very beginning, knowing what will happen later on. Concerning your question on his prep work, he had the entire plot of the MHA manga planned before even starting the first chapter; kind of like the creator of One Piece did. It sounds trivial but you'd be surprised how rare it is that a mangaka would plan ahead with so much foresight while sticking to their vision. But MHA is only Horikoshi's third manga series. His first two were actually failures which were cancelled.

Johnwaluigi

What's -really- fantastic about this episode is it really emphasises how Deku adheres to the ideals All Might has put forward. Not only is he a great hero himself, but his heroism inspires others to do the same. Like in Season 1, where Uraraka asks to give some of her points in the entrance exam to Deku (AllMight congratulates him on "spurring others to act") now we see Todoroki take what Deku did for him and try do it for Iida too. People might complain that Todoroki's importance in this arc is overemphasised (given how prominent he was in the Sports Festival Arc) but there really is no better character to have right now - as it reinforces the central idea of the "Symbol of Peace" in this narrative.

Ashalesth

Regarding the author, Boku no Hero Academia is his ONLY work. He has done the skeleton of the entire story from start to end but builds and exponentiate upon it along the way. He stated at this point (few months ago)(in the manga) the story is about 20% done. Recently his health has been slowing down releases, and both his editors + assistants are asking him to take off-weeks. So its not that he is a genius or has alot of prep work, he literally just pushes himself to the limit.

hear you where wondering about the artist of my hero here you go The name of the artist is Kohei horikoshi who fail in serious depression after is first two series get canceled " omagadoki zoo and sensei no bulge" so bad he all most give up on writing manga all together but decied to give it one more try by making a manga base off thing that make him happy in the past and luck would have it that he pick his one shot my hero. Ps During November 2014, Horikoshi asked his followers on Twitter to think of ideas for new [[Quirk]]s and send them to him. He then goes on to say he might turn that Quirk into a real hero and announce it at Jump Fiesta

Tony

Not really, ghostwolf gets it. The author does have experience writing other stories but this is his latest & most successful one by a lot.

*Unrelenting Squealing/screaming* One more episode and you guys have caught up to me. ;_; Stain is just so terrifying! This show is awesome! Have to run out before hearing your analysis but I'll be back! *Unrelenting squealing/screaming resumes*

I was wondering if you guys ever tried watching Bakuman. Because in that anime, you will see the creative process and behind the scene of manga authors to produce a manga in shounen jump weekly. It was such an eye opener. And by the way, it's written by author and artist who create Death Note. Shounen jump contents are including MHA, Haikyuu!!, HxH... I can imagine how MHA creator must be went through downs mostly before finally he can produce such a hit like MHA. I suggest if you have slot, you can add Bakuman as one of options there.

Willem Dafoe

God damn your predictions are amazing. I'll leave it at that. I cannot WAIT for the next episode!

Jason MacNeil

I don't think Stain's fast in terms of superhuman, I think it's just fighting experience that makes him able to keep up with those kids and their enhanced ability quirks.
