Hearing you guys talk about the music and music cues in this anime makes me even more glad that you ended up watching the sub for it. The dub, while good, had to change a lot of the music used in the anime due to copyright issues and one of my favorite parts about Monster is the OST and how well it is used. Loving the discussion and enthusiasm you guys have for the show so far! :D

Man, I know this is a whiny comment, but this is definitely the first series in a while that I'm super bummed I can't actually watch "with" them. I would absolutely re-watch Monster if it was along with them. It probably makes the viewership take a hit but the method they ended up being forced into with HxH is my ideal outcome.

Geeze I remember watching this a long time ago (I also remember really enjoying it) and though I can remember the overarching plot, the majority of smaller details and plot points have run away from me. So its almost like a new experience all over again, and as always, always super interesting hearing you guys theorize!

Well, by the end of February you'll have such opportunity for Monster and every other series they will be doing live reactions/discussions for, although it'd be a part of $10 tier reward (No brainer for me since I pretty watch all of their reactions & discussions and if I'm going blind and watch the episode simultaneously too it's even better).

There's a reason why Johan remains one of the most memorable characters in anime. You two have already begun to pick up on the psychological arc of his development which is fantastic.

I can't believe how much of this show I honestly forgot. I didn't get that very far in it though. Though, I do have to ask, are hospitals in 80s Germany just don't have very much electricity? Even late at night into early morning, any hospital I've been in has adequate to excessive lighting in the halls. Why are these halls so pitch black dark? This series has so much suspense and creepiness to it. It gives me the chills.

Oh, by the way the "other police officers" the detective was trying to beat to the punch was the BKA (which stands for Bundeskriminalamt), the German version of the FBI.
