I can't handle it. Every time. That moment when Takako contacts Gin in the snowcat. I break down. Something worth pointing out: During the blizzard, the seat in front of Gin is intact. After the blizzard, when the others are out searching for Takako, Gin has clearly snapped the head clean off that seat.

Also worth pointing out since you don't seem to be watching the Crunchyroll translation which translates the e-mail at the end: That e-mail was from Yuzuki's mom.

A lot of people mistook that email as from Takako, but there is English text stating "You have a new message from Shiraishi Tamiko-san" NOT Shirase. sorry if that bursts your bubble lol. We've seen Yuzu on the laptop but we have also seen Shirase sending emails to her mom's email (like before they set out, she sends one ) so it is easy to mistake the end credit scene. I also thought about Shirase's mom too and came to the conclusion that she may have gotten pregnant young and instead of settling down, she insisted on pursuing this dream - they did go through an awful lot to even get there the first time - and he probably did the same as the other girl's boyriend. "Go do your dream, but I'm not staying around" or it was a young love and he really didn't want to be a dad yet. -That's what I figured because we've even seen her grandmother (praying at her mother's altar and when Shirase herself sets out on her expedition, she is praying again) So if the dad was present, we would've seen him for sure. This episode was so good! Just hilarious and left me fully charged and inspired.

I think they are, they just miss details because it’s hard to catch them all in the first sitting lol.

Silver Spoon is a great comedy made by the author of Full Metal Alchemist

It's starting from this episode that I can't watch without tearing up at least once. This time it was when Shirase was talking about living her life just waiting for her mother that would never come back. Ugh, that hit the feels so bad. That "IN YOUR FACE" at the end was so satisfying. I don't know if you remember, but Shirase actually said in an earlier episode that she was going to say that once she gets to Antarctica. Seeing her actually achieve her goal felt so amazing. This show is amazing. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes. I also can't believe we're nearing the end of this journey. It went by so quickly.

Yeah, we're just left to speculate what's happened to her dad. I think the reason why they don't even mention him is because he's not important to the story. In the same way, we've never even heard Hinata mention her parents or family life; I have some crack theories as to why that could be given what little we know. Back to Shirase's dad, I think those are great and reasonable speculations. I think with him out of the picture, it gave way for Gin to interact with Shirase; even though both claim that they never really talked (probably only after Takako died), Gin seemed to visit frequently enough. It makes sense since Gin and Takako were best friends, and Takako didn't have a husband, so they could hang out more often. Speaking of, did you know there are actually some theories about Gin having romantic feelings for Takako? After all, Gin did answer "someone who's like a cloud" to the question of "who's your type" - assuming that Takako is the cloud, well... I still don't know what to think about this theory (they provide more reasons online), but I suppose it could be taken as ambiguous. Though I think if Gin were a man, there'd be more supporters of this theory, so I kinda see their point. (It's kinda like how in Haikyuu, they thought Yachi's mom's assistant might have romantic feelings for her, because he was concerned about Yachi lol) But anyways, I'm getting off topic. This episode was really good! I'm anticipating these last episodes, because all of them are beyond amazing, even by YoriMoi standards.

Stronger than me, I've been crying whether from emotional overload or just laughing so hard since very early on XD But yeah this arc, requires tissues and if possible hugs. My sister (whom I dragged on this journey with me Lol) and I were speechless a lot of times this arc. The part with Shirase 'waiting for her mom to come home' ugh its just emotionally wrecking.
