Here comes one of the 1st, if not THE1st Yandere in ALL OF MANGA!

R_K41

Definitely not the first, though she might very well be the lamest bare bone iteration of that archetype in all of manga.

I love those little extra things from the editor, gives your react series more personality

"Yukako may be described as yandere, and arguably may have predated or became the progenitor of the archetype. Araki comments that her personality was designed in reaction to the prevalency of moe perfectionism applied to many female characters, as a statement that someone of any gender should be capable of being frightening or losing their temper." from <a href="https://jojo.fandom.com/wiki/Yukako_Yamagishi" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://jojo.fandom.com/wiki/Yukako_Yamagishi</a>

For example, Haman Kan from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (1985) can be argued to be oldest possible character with yandere attributes, but even then, there's so much Anime and Manga before that that I haven't watched or care to watch to pinpoint exactly the birth of the archetype. One thing I can tell you for a fact, is that Yukaku is definitely not the progenitor.

I'm surprised that you guys missed the obvious Stephen King's 'Misery' reference which is this entire episode. I think that's my favorite part.

Fuya

Haman Kahn was definitely not the first. She didn't show her yandere trait back in Zeta where it all began. We just became to know she was a yandere from other following alteration. Can't say Yukako was the very first, but she's probably one of the very early ones.

Kinglier

I think they are great. The whole Misery feel of this arc is great.

R_K41

I disagree with you, but my main point was to debunk the ridiculous misconception of "Yukaku being the first Yandere", when she's not even older than Haman Kan.

Hey look, Best Girl has arrived

To be honest this is the very first time I have seen anyone calling Haman Kahn a straight up yandere. She just has some yan side in her imo but if that is already enough to count her as one, she theoretically could be one so that's fair.

Koichi steals... no dignity 😤

And to be honest I never said "Haman Kahn is a straight up yandere". I said she's a character with Yandere attributes, meaning that she counts as one on a spectrum. You can have a developed well rounded character with a quirky element, like yandere to spice it up. Characters can be complex, shocker I know. Having the entire character revolve around being an extreme Yandere however, is a recipe for a lame one dimensional throw away character, which is exactly how Yukako turned out to be.
