Clare

I'm suprised how much they want him to be a genially good guy, guys, his litually killed adults with no reason and you heard bones breaking

Clare

kinda upset they didn't address her trying sacrificing herself for Senku

BreaRose

They are not ready for the next two episodes :D

This part really cements Senku's ethics. He could have given Tsukasa a bogus revival recipe, but he knew that Tsukasa was going to kill him and that if he did that humanity would remain petrified. He accepted his death and gave the future of humanity to his own murderer in order to preserve humanity.

Cains

Tsukasa does have a reason as has been explained, he wants to keep humanity in the hunter-gatherer age to prevent the mass atrocities and wealth centralization of the modern age. Senku's argument is that science and progress is worth the downsides, but Tsukasa has a point that despite harsher living the lower population allows people to be more "free" and you won't have things like terrorism or machine guns that kill tons of people indiscriminately. Senku said it himself that Tsukasa is not a mindless killer, the two just disagree on what's better for humanity. Keep in mind that Senku was making gunpowder so that he's able to kill Tsukasa and we saw that he was prepared to do it, they're both willing to kill for different reasons.

good stuff

How can you not? Tsukasa isn't some mindless "I want to rule this planet because I'm evil". He hasn't shown that mentality. He's breaking the statues of the people he deems those who would taint the planet with their very existence. He's got a heart. Anyone who's got a heart, you gotta root for them at least a tiny bit, be them hero or villain.

tbh i think taiju's reasoning for not confessing is kind of admirable. like specifically because he knows she might feel pressured and just go along with him because there's no one to run to for protection if she doesn't want to be with him. he's definitely overthinking it, but the thinking he does do is kind of much deeper than people notice.

Minashiro Soushi

Yup, Senku was spot on with his assessment of Tsukasa: "He's a good guy, but a murderer".

They did in the reaction and after? I'm not sure what you mean, they awwed and everything

I know that the way people internalize and understand character development is different, but thinking like "that person did a bad, why do you empathize with them lol?" is how you get people misunderstanding things like Pitou's development in Hunter x Hunter. Personally, I'll always like being able to understand - but not necessarily agree with - a villain's thinking more than any "evil for evil's sake" villain, even if the latter is better written. There's probably an exception I'm not considering, but in general the Stevenson quote about "nobody wakes up in the morning thinking 'I'm a bad guy'... they think they're the right guy" is totally my shit when it comes to villains. And in this case, heroes too, since Senku was totally ready to end Tsukasa if he had the chance.

Derrick C. Shields

Wow, nice. I always assumed that his excuse was some reasoning about "things need to be done the 'proper' way, we need to rebuild civilization before I ask you to be with me". I literally never even considered that he'd be thinking that it might be a little messed up to ask her as one of only three men (as far as anyone knows), the other two being disinterested or a murderer, in a world where she's the only woman, and put her on the spot. I feel like the Big Dumb.

Derrick C. Shields

Jacob, I think plenty of people who care enough know the ingredients to gunpowder. That's not a ridiculous thing to memorize. Kind of seems like you're looking for things to laugh at.

yeah plus taiju we know is simple and dont understand that stuff but just because tsukasa is strong does not mean he isnt smart just not on senku's level i think its safe to assume he is smart enough to have learned the components to gunpowder and be smart enough to think enough ahead as to what senku would be trying to do to deal with his stregth
